Creepy Door

Creepy Door

The small rooms in the basement had these heavy duty doors, hopefully they were used for storage.

kinda looks like bared teeth in the middle of the door, i know its just a peep hole, but still !!
Stunning shot!
GIGGLE GIGGLE!
I agree with Anna. It seems like the same percautions taken for doors for violent patients. Surely they didn't keep patients down here, did they?
lol
I wonder...what would be the point in peepholes if they DIDN'T keep patients down there?
It could be for ventilation.
Sure looks like this door has a mean smile on its face...
If only that door could talk...
Your photographs are awesome---but I'm almost physically ill looking at the images and knowing the history of this place.
Thank you for not trying to "pretty up" the pictures and let them speak for all the children that were in this hellhole!!
The Door seems to be tauting.
check for scrach marks on the door, specially near the handle
That does it, Mott. I'm staying up all night and watching my Three Stooges collection.
if you look at the door close enough you can see the faint shadow of a face. chilling.
woow!!!!!! i really love the colors i wish i had the same pretty color in my door oh and by the way i love the way you said that comment lynne
priscilla, you prolly meant anna. :-)
*blushes*
no,that door was not used for storege it was used for people who was held hostege
So... it was for people storage? I'm not sure what you mean by "held hostage". Do you just mean held against their will? The same could be said of most doors inside an asylum or a jail. Usually a hostage is someone who is being held against their will to be traded for something else (money, a way out of a situation, etc). What exactly were you trying to say? (I'm not trying to be a smart ass, it just sounds that way...)
"People who was held hostege" - chuckle chuckle. :-)
So, Sketch, you're not trying to be me? (Please note, me, not ~Me).
Ok, maybe I was trying to be just a little bit of a smart ass... I can't help it that my personal devil happens to sit on my fingers!

To be honest, I'm not even trying to be me these days, let alone you or ~Me. I'm just trying to be.
creepy door is right sheesh!
HAHA woah that really is the definition of creepy door!
i hope micheal jackson isnt in that room!!hehe
It looks like solitary confinement for all the bad patients.
your wierd. HA HA.
People in these rooms could be considered hostages. Can you imagine somebody going for treatment for something mild, very easily treatable with therapy or mild medicine? They could be given heavy medicines and kept here when their condition would understandably worsen. Their families would be convinced the best care was being given. Maybe a way to make up for low revenues by the hospital. That's scary.
who r u people u'r talking about a DOOR for crying out loud
I'd hate to say it but I think it may be a cell. Because the Asylum in my town has rooms like that in the basement with heavy doors and they're ment for realy violent patients.
What a magnificent photo........
imm pretty sure that was a cell....from a while ago
Who was held hostage??? Horton??? was it cause he heard something????

Seriously, where do they come from?

Sketch, said it all, So I'll just leave my smartass comment and thank Motts for another way cool shot.
It's the Hannibal Lecter of doors.
OMG i so see the bared teeth. *shutter* Monster House anyone???
scaryyyyyy T-T
If you don't think that they didn't keep patients down in the basement behind these "toothy" doors....well, you probably need to think a little more realistically.
Motts...You mentioned that this place was the scene of much abuse. This room was where the baddest of the misbehaving bunch wound up in time out.
hell no!!! you know they were used to tourture people and lockin them down for hours, days and probably months and years tooo!!!!
a place for the staff to hide if there was trouble?
It IS the Hanibal Lector of doors!

I love the way it looks distorted...
