What do the letters the handles are placed on spell?
it looks like it spells AAMPPCIII to me but I can't really be sure. I think it works like a huge typewriter; you pull the lever to the letter you want and it prints that letter onto a peice of paper behind the machine.

looks like one of those old check writing machines that embossed a check with the amount so you didn't have to write it
It's an early form of a label printer the company that made them stil exists to day.More accurately it would be a stamping machine you could probably use it on anything from files to patients robes.
