Trails

Another child's bicycle rusts away in the overgrown courtyard.

That bike is sweet! Look at the seat and handle bars. Totally reminds me of when I was a kid and I was the only girl in the neighborhood that had a dirt bike! Trails is a nice title, I would have gone with Unhappy Trails by the sound of this place.
More than one abandoned bike? That just sends chills through me! Like everyone just abanded the place before they were prepared to do so.
I wonder what year those bikes are from?Looks like something from the sixties or seventies to me.
It looks like a late seventies / early eighties bike. From the time period when the style of childrens bikes made the shift from street cruiser style to a more BMX style. The handle bars look BMX but the seat is closer to a banana seat. I had a bike that was similar to this bike in 1979 called the Huffy "road thunder". It was sweet!
Those are from late sixties early seventies-we called them banana seat bikes-cool if groovy colors like purple or bright green.
I remember my mother having one of these type bikes,an adult sized one ofcourse. It was this really awful shade of orange. Why did people like such ugly colors back in the seventies?
I used to ride a similar bike (had a squarer seat than this one). It was a friend of mines, since I would never be allowed to ride a boys bike at my house!

These pictures often remind me that but for the grace of god goes I...
great photo. there are so many shots (this one included) that just look like the "inhabitants" have just Poof! disappeared and anything they were doing or holding has just dropped to the floor, very creepy but very beautiful
That bike is from the mid 70's to early 80's. I still have mine down in the basement. It originally had plastic fenders on the front and back and a fake racing number plate. Brings back memories
I wanna talk to the people who worked there and and who put there kids there!
My mum used to have a bike EXACTLY like the one the old bag is riding in The Wizard Of Oz....i'm pretty sure it folded in half too......oh the shame of it!
The old bag? Was it a WalMart bag?
The Wicked Witch of the West?
loods lide they just had a mass evacuation without warning
u never know the person riding the bike may have got a sudden dose of the TOMMY TITS and had to abandon the lovely bike before it went all over it!

ONE HAS TO make light of a TERRIBLY SAD but poignant picture.
This picture shows that whatever mankind creates no matter how signifigant will one day, be taken back by nature.
The old bag was Mrs. Gultch, I had nightmares about the old witch every time I watched the Wizzard of Oz. still gives me the damn chills when I see it today...lol

Ashes to Ashes, cool shot Motts.
A very calming beautiful photo
so sad :(
its like everyone one day in the middle of a normal afternoon just up and dissapeared...it eerie and desolate. The only thing to make it creepier was if one tire were to be spinning...
