Courtyard

Courtyard

From the roof, you can see the inside of the courtyard and the gazebo in the center. In the center is the junction of buildings 21 and 22, and the long connecting corridor that goes to 7.

I WAS THERE LAST NIGHT AND WE SET OFF THE ALARM WE WENT RUNNING FROM WHERE YOU SEE NO DOWN TO THAT LITTLE CORRIDOR THAT CONNECTS THE BUILDINGS ALL THE WAY ACROSS DOWN THE TREE THAT YOU CAN SEE RIGHT OVER THEN AND THROUGH BUILDING TWENTY THREE IT WAS A RUSH
I just located this courtyard on Google Earth, it's pretty cool checking it out from a satelite image.

Good luck with your Urban Exploring!

is there no alarm on that roof, or are you just really good?
This is such a cool shot I love it.
This plaece looks so freaking fun and cool!!!
This was the view from my floor in bldg 7 for the 5 years I worked there between 1980 and 1985. Some of the stuff I've read here is pretty amazing. Some of it is exaggerated bullshit. But isn't that how legends are born?

Hey, Motts? Do you have myspace?
I have been here!!!
I was here on Sunday... obeying the law and standing out on the public road, but I managed to take pictures of the locked fence and some of the building.

After I did, something pushed the camera out of my hands and broke the lens, but 'they' didn't break my memory card. :(
haha i was there to night and theres no motion detectors ive been there 5 times been to the roof and the tip top roof theres never been anycops that hav came as i was there or anything
omg i was here two days ago and the courtyard was completely overgrown i was standing on the roof and the courtyard was just all green plants and tall grass and you are only able to see the top of the little gazeebo thing
My friend & I went here back in April.
We were wrapping up our 7 hour trip through a bunch of other buildings & decided to walk around the Quad.
When doing so we heard whistles coming from inside one of the buildings. I whistled back & no sooner did we spot hands sticking out the windows far above our heads waving down at us. These phantom explorers then started to throw streamers from the windows & let them blow in the wind. The 2 boys eventually came down, introduced themselves & took us around the buildings. They are from the area & younger, so they have a lot of free time to constantly explore.
Eventually after going throughout the buildings, connections, the tops of the buildings, & snapped countless photographs, etc., we spotted a cop.
When trying to escape from view, we had to go the same way we came & run across the top of the connector (that is pictured) & my friend, who was wearing a bright blue shirt, got spotted :(
When we got out, we foolishly thought we'd lost the cop & stood around discussing the amazing beauty of the buildings, thanking the boys & trading emails... When the cop who swore he was terminator pulled up.
The 2 boys got off because they were underage & without ID. My friend & I on the other hand, drove in from Queens. My car was parked all the way down by the river (we'd walked quite a bit that day), so I made up an elaborate story that our IDs were in my car. The cop refused to let us go, or to even give us a lift to my car in order to write us up, but he had no trouble following alongside us, doing 3 miles per hour, as we took our sweet time trying to discuss quietly what we were going to say to get ourselves out of a summons, & also as we walked through wooded areas (where he couldn't drive) in order to snatch our wallets from our bags & shove them in our sleeves, as well as take all the memory cards from all 3 of our cameras & put them in our bras, all without being seen. All of a sudden, when back on the road & confident that the cop now really wouldn't be able to really prove anything against us that would be too incriminating (aside from the fact that he spotted my friend on the roof), a driver came speeding down the wrong side of the road right across from where we were walking.
Needless to say, the cop went after him & let us 2 little girls go. I guess the ticket he could give a guy for speeding & for driving on the wrong side of a publicly used roadway was a lot greater than a trespassing summons. But he didn't have any trouble threatening & harassing us before we made our way (quickly) back to my car.
That was the first time in all the years I've been going to Kings Park that I ever had any real trouble with a cop. We haven't been back yet, but we have been making plans with the 2 boys for the near future.
Always fun & exciting times at KPPC! :)
hey maria, A couple of friends and I are looking to go here soon, is there anything we need to know? what to bring?, what to expect, what about the cops? is there usually other people there?

thanks, alf (n00b)
i have this same photograph that i took the day i was there. i went all the way to the very top of the building, as high as u can go i believe. that long stretch of roofing? very unstable in the middle. i ran across it twice. once to get into this building, and next to get back to where we were and to run away from a cop lol
There's the corridor we run across to jump from building to building.
