Tub

Tub

The bathtub looked old, with the claw feet on the bottom... it seems to have been retrofitted with a stainless steel faucet with a temperature control gauge. Many of the globe light fixtures have been smashed but a few remain.

BOTH THE LIGHT FIXTURE AND THE TUB ARE WORTH A GOOD SOME OF MONEY. I WISH THAT I COULD GET THEM!
What could you get for them? Uh, how about arrested and charged with trespassing, breaking and entering, vandalism, and theft of state property?
Well you could just try and say they belonged to your grandparents or something. The real question is how are you going to get a bathtub out of a building quickly and quietly?
I think the bigger issue here is that most folks, myself included, would rather see them saved and preserved than smashed and rotted. It almost seems discrespectfull to all that passed through before to let them simply rot away
Yes, but, then again, it IS just a bathtub.
BUT ITS AN ANTIQUE CLAWFOOT BATHTUB!!!
I think what really sucks is the graffiiti. THATS whats disrespectful, it totally takes away from the shots
ah, the graffiti
People have no respect
The graffiti is interesting to me, although it is very disrespectful, the yellow/brown graffiti looks like Frylock from Aqua Teen Hunger Force!
why would there be a bathtub in a school?
So that the students could get clean, of course!
Could also be that they taught the kids ~how~ to use the bathtub. During the bathing lessons, they played records in the background "This is the way we use the soap, use the soap, use the soap. This is the way we use the soap, so early in the morning..."
this place is marvelous i just love it i would of loved to really see it in person how so much of this could be real every picture means somethinga bout what happend and everything i just love the pictures of the place like i said marveluos
<3 clawfoot bathtubs.
actually, i am obsessed with them.
The kids lived a the school.
I have a nice clean tub at home thanks.
is that an orb by the bath
There is a bathtub in the school because the "students" were mental patients who lived here. Here in New England, state funded institutions were called "State Schools" or "State Hospitals". We still have one in Wrentham,MA that used to be called Wrentham State School..It's now known as the Wrentham Development Center
I can't believe I'm the first to say this, but it really is astounding... what a good idea to put the soap dispenser right above the bathtub!! genius.
I worked at this facility in the early 80's. It is quite interesting viewing these photographs after knowing and working with students/ residents, how these pictures come to life for me.
did you see the same drawings of that mask around the school?
I love this website, very interesting photos. One question I have is how dis a claw foot bathtub get into a 50's building? Those tubs are much older than that.
More than the graffiti i think it's disrespectful of the state to take a multi-million doallar facility and let it just sit and rot. The only real use of this place in the last 5 years and even 10 or so prior to 2002 is a playground for teenagers and a way for police to bust vandals. Yes the graffiti sucks, but there is some descent work elsewhere in the facility. Some graff can be legitamate art. But the tub is simply the man. Whoever thot you'd be able to get that out, guess again. You'll have to be carrying that thing, which is at least 200lbs across several acres covered by security, good luck. Don't think about bringing a truck into the faciity or you WILL get bagged by security.
You'd never believe some of the things that occured in those tubs.... worked there ... I wish I could forever forget......
And the things you did to try to stop this from happening were . . . . . ?
I Know what happened in those tubs to the clients that I worked with for 11 years...They were never normal again
Whatever 'those' workers did to those people/patients is truely a disgrace....not just disgraceful to human begins but a disgrace to the Medical field as well.
They are some really beautiful pictures. It's just sad that the people who inhabited this facility were treated so inhumanely.
My friend found this room and totally got into that tub then took a picture. Hes so dumb. I wanted to vomit.
Si, probabilmente lo e
Ancient signwriter's secret....Easy off oven cleaner will remove dried enamel (99% of graffiti!)
On a vehicle, it won't even mess with the factory paint!
