Is the linoleum peeling on the floor? Or what?
Yeah the tiles were all coming up.
I LOVE THESE THEATRE SHOTS!
i love them too . love to see the curtains still hanging on an empty stage in a empty building
Noice Shot! I wonder though, why were there theaters on these hospitals?!?!
For entertainment, like everywhere else. Jes' 'cos you're going through a rough time doesn't mean that entertainment is lost on you. :-)
Lynne, yes... thank goodness for that!
When the heating and ventilation systems get shut off and water gets inside the tile edges start to curl. Winter freeze/thaw cycles then 'pull' the tiles right off glue that adheres them to the floor.
Are those a bunch of ceiling tiles that are missing or is that some sort of rigging for flying speakers from? This is a pretty nice looking theater for being in a hospital...
or seemily, an insect swarm from the earlier lab escaped and suprised the patients by riping through the screen. and onto the patients like the riples on the floor... the last thing they've seen.
Looks barn NEW!
i love the floor. that's awesome.
i love how all these old hospitals had these beautiful big theatres!
What's with all the fire hydrants? There is five of them that I can see. Why so many, and they have all been expended.
Lots of dogs for pet therapy.
anyone notice the new exit signs?
LOL@ Lynne's comment. I think ReyAne meant to write fire extinguishers...but it's still funny to imagine!
is it just me or do all the theaters look the same?? anyone?
Most British Mental Hospitals had main halls, which were often used as a dining area for more able patients.
This makes my heart drop a little... I am a in training to be a theatrical lighting designer, and theater is my life. It pains me to see a beautiful (albeit Small) space like this deterorate into ruin.
Those tiles look like a snakeskin...crreeeeeppppppy. :D
I wonder why there are 5 fire extinguishers on the floor. That floor looks awesome!

Question: What is the first letter of the word "abandoned?"
