Slab

Slab

The morgue opens up on the other side, so you can access the bodies from both sides.

Great picture, gives me the creeps though!
Unless you burn in a fire, get eaten by an animal, drown in the ocean, or get murdered and never discovered, you will end up inside one of these chambers.
it looks like this one wasnt cleaned
This image reminds of the movie The Jacket with Adrien Brody and Keira Knightley. Creepy
It is frightening how "self-contained" these hospitals were. Didn't need anything from the "outside" and I wonder if the "outside" ever had any idea what was really going on in here...
They started abatement on the older buildings so it should say Being demolished or renovated right?
yeah, okay. I would never get close enough to a morgue slot to take a picture like that. brrrr...
*shudders--big time*
Why do morgues make people freaky? We all die. It's our reward for a life well lived.
i love exploring building seven, i actually have a picture of me sitting one of the slabs in there!
& to think someone was actually dead on this...look at the blood on it...did it smell funny?
This website is amazing. Do any of these establishments give tours. I actually almost went into Pilgrim State Bldg. 23 yesterday. I was mesmerized.
Most of these places do not give tours due to the dangerous conditions of the buildings and the liability risks are very great.

Some of these old hospitals have museums that can be visited publicly or by appointment though:

KPPC: http://www.kingsparkmuseum.com/
Pilgrim: http://www.omh.state.n...es/pgpc/facility.htm
Weston Insane Asylum in Weston, WV gives tours and other great pakages (Ghost hunts, etc) for reasonable fees. It is a Kirkbride building and well worth the time and money since we can't all be Mr. Motts!
