The chair-man of the hospital does it again!

The bsic structure looks well intact for a building abandoned 30+ years.
No! No! You can't be finished yet! We want more pix! :-(

P.S. I sure love that poor lonely chair. He looks a lot better from this angle.
thank you motts, once again, for letting me see the world through your eyes.
Really nice to see a place so un-touched, which has been abannoned so long! Thanks Motts, more pics of this place would cool.
Please, More Pics of this Place!!!
thank you thank you for the pics, i love them all, would love to see more if you have them- was there a kitchen or cafeteria area?
Yep, that's it... there was only one abandoned building on campus, hence the short gallery. The building seemed to only house dorms and a laboratory. I have many more new places and photos to post, so don't worry!
Em . . . not to sound pushy, but we are ready for them right now. ;-)
Lynne!!! LOLl!! My thoughts exactly - (but I didnt have the nerve to state them - glad you did though!!! ) (Motts, WE LOVE YOUR PHOTOGRAPHY! CANT GET ENOUGH)
Wonderful set, wonderful website. Your site is the best out of all the UE sites I have visited. I love the fact that you put comments with the pictures, tell us about your experience(s), allow us to post comments and that you respond to some of the questions posted. You are a fantastic photographer and storyteller Motts....I await for your book to come out. (hint-hint) :)
keep me wanting more...........i could spend days just looking at your pictures.........you are a genius mr. motts
Really cool contrast with the colors in this photograph..sad to say goodbye to this gallery now, haha.
RUN CHAIR RUN!!!

Motts is after you!!
Wow - great photo. A true portrait of the loneliness of abandonment. Your photography captures emotions that could never be put into words.
awww almost a sad picture
A ghost could easily haunt this old hallway.

Signed: An American Soldier in Germany.
And so our poor little chair remains alone in the decrepted darkness, never to support our tired bodies for it now support's the passage of time.
I'M STILL WAITING!!!!!!
Love the aqua-marine touch at the end of the moon hall.

Thus ends another day another gallery
Was bored (went to look over old archives starting at the top of the list and going down); and this one just made me think that the dust on the floor near the bottom of the photo almost looks like shag type carpeting.

Overall I love the texture of this shot!
Memories and stories from past employees, visitors or patients are gratefully welcome
Goodbye sad lonely chair.....does this place still stand or is it long gone by now, Motts?? Either way great job on the pictures as usual. Its strange that a used building is close to it. I wonder why they either don't use it or get rid of it? How sad really. If its cost effective maybe they'll re-use it but it sounds as if its been abandoned for some what 30yrs now.....It would propably cost too much $$ to repair now. Sad really....how sad. Yes patient or employees would be nice to hear from if possible.....Thanks again Motts!! : )
Thanks, yes the place is still around.

I don't know if it is the case with this particular institution, but perhaps they missed the golden age of demolition where many contaminants didn't need to be specially removed (asbestos, lead, etc). Now with a growing set of EPA laws being put into effect, the cost to tear things down far outweighs the inconvenience of having a decaying building next door. Either it'll burn down (naturally or "unnaturally") or it'll collapse in on itself (demolition by neglect). I believe once a building has gone past a certain point of stability, it can be demolished more leniently and cost effectively under the law.
Amazing gallery
I just wish there were monies to save these old buildings. I know we aren't perfect in Europe but we seem to find uses for ours more I think. My brother lived in a 1000 year old soldiers barracks (they made them into apartments, it was amazing to see what they used as insulation, they weren't finished with all of them so we got to see them during the remodel). I just wish the government would realize how important the buidlings are. Once you lose them a part of our history is gone forever. Memories are also gone forever.
Patricia, I agree. Where are you from? I'm from UK but live in Greece. Here, an abandoned building either gets pulled down or stays that way. Noone seems to understand the notion of renovation. Here in Salonika there are so many beautiful buildings just going to ruin. I wanna cry.
the buildings were built with old school carpentry and masson skills and solid oak and the best hard woods fresh cut from the forest thay were built to last hundreds of years not120 150 it would cost multi millions to try to copy and replace the buildings /let alone the cost for the skilled labor to do the work/we have plenty of parking lots /emty lots dont make jobs /or put roofs over peoples heads.give someone a place to live.and save the old woman and have her stay arounde for another 100 or 200 years look at the cost to replace them in 100 or so years verses the cost of the interest on the dollar/to repair them
