Rotted Bed

Rotted Bed

I just realized how rare it is to find a bed with the sheets, mattress, and pillow still intact in these places. This was strange because the room was right next to the lab... perhaps this was a place for for the resident technician to stay?

EEEWWW!
70's Motts? Jesus Christ, more like the 30's!
What a magnificient find!
Yet another sign that Decay will destroy asylum UE reeealllly soon.
Hey, that looks like like that motel rom I stayed in when my car broke down outside of Cleveland that time! ; )
I love the fact that it seems to be untouched by vandals
this bed has seen better days ..., is that a pillow at the top (right)? it looks to be in shreads or is that horsehair coming out of the mattress?
Wow, that pillow is gnarly, its looks like a rodent may have gotten to it
Love this shot.
Something about it is just so perfect. The colors. I think it is the colors.. o.O
did it have a smell to it
?
i dont get how the bed could of gotten into such a state with it just being left there, the pillow looks more like its been attacked than moulded and rotten. but i dont know much about these things mind
It didn't smell, and yes it was probably torn apart by cats or raccoons.
Another Great find Motts. This is one of those photographs that just screams "Watch out-- nature collides with the human race".
Someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed
The pillow is a prize. It should be scooped (how else could you pick it up?) up and put in a museum somewhere.
PB,
You can win that prize. I think I'll pass. LOL
The 'dead bird' from another gallery would look perfect on that pillow. (LOL)
PB, You are going to need a trophy room! LOL
I would not sleep in that thing for a million Bucks. GROSS!
Now this, this is what night terrors are made of. I can actually imagine a furry creature popping up from that poor has-been mattress. Yipes!
I wonder what kind of psych drug that patient was on to make mince meat out of that poor wounded pillow? had to be something out of this world.
Spontaneous Combustion.
This place is messed up.
icky gross bed! lol
This is a great shot.
"I told you to make your bed, now see what has happened"
I told you not to use that fabric softner! LOOK WHAT YOU DID!
who want to sleep on that bed..anybody want to try it's?
*yawn* well thats all for me nighty night hey umm why are there so many holes in this blanket?? and whats up with the pillow????
Not to mention the many levels of "bed bugs." Yuck!
ummm dont let them bite....
Motts, have you ever found any rats or other rodents in these places?
Nope, by the time I get to them there's usually nothing left to eat so they all disappear. Pigeons and raccoons are usually the next inhabitants.
"I can't sleep"
I bet there were some rodents sleeping inside the mattress even as you took the photo! Looks like great nesting material.

I bet after they closed down the building to patients and such that some lab work may have been still taking place temporarily which would account for the bed being left behind. The lab workers wouldn't have worried about hauling a bed out of there, they have more important things to worry about! (obviously since they left those cultures behind as well!)
what a find !!!
Looks like some body died on that bed.
looks like the bed caught TB
This one's a bit surreal. There's an almost exact copy of this picture (or this is a copy of the other), taken at the end of WWII, in Changi POW camp, in Singapore.
wow.
i wouldnt want to sleep there.
Great Shot but ever so nasty!!!
Mr. Motts I bet you have alot of souveniers.
That looks very gross!! EWWW
I love your pictures !!
Now who's ready for a nice nap?
Motts did ever think ya needed a nap while in there? Awesome picture I love em all Please create a book. Your amazing. TY for sharing your pictures.
Awsome Find!!!!!!!
Sleepy Sleepy. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Wow. That's. Well? That's something.
I really don't know what to say. That is the kind of picture you've got to sit with for a while...
I wonder who was the person to last sleep in that bed prior to the building/hospital emptying out? It's funny really. One morning somebody got up out of that bed and then... That was the end, they never came back, so there the bed has sat for years and years and years.
Oh yeah, nearly forgot. That color on the walls, that sickly minty greenie yellow? That color reminds me of the hand soap they had at the school for the blind here in KC it was this weird liquid stuff and it was either green or pink. Yuck. Anyway, was this like the intended color of the walls or is that some major molde going on there? Maybe as this room is next to the lab with all the TB cultures, the cultures have gotten free and now live on the wall? J/K
George Washington slept there.

I'd sleep there.
looks comfy =]
That is really gross......yuck!! It needs to go in the trash....thats for sure!!
lmao ed

Fantastic picture! Love the decay....
aaargh. that's so amazingly ugly. i love these horrible things combined with some huddled fragile pale gothic princess in fancy dress :)
Spent the past hours on a road trip looking at these...passes time quickly! Don't worry, I'm not the driver!
