sorry, that song leapt into my head when when I read Achilles comment (as did the pun).
I hate this type of functional architecture. There are several institutional buildings of the same style where I live and they are definitely a eyesore, especially during winters.
Its certainly not your old school Kirkbride but I still say their is a definite beauty in even these, now old and history filled buildings.
I have always been fascinated in the unknown since I was a little child and I want so bad to just go into a building.
The external fire escapes were added around 1980 or so.
Wow, this picture is kinda scary. Very sinister, almost.
Human hands touched each & every brick during construction. One by one they were cemented in place by bricklayers.
