Silence

This seclusion room door is set in to create a sound proof seal when closed, and has a thick glass window... nothing else.

Probably for all those patients who could not keep quiet.
Was the room painted blue or was it day light coming in making it look that way.
The colors are fantastic in this picture!
I still dont understand how they can open the door without handles and it cant be a swing door because then the patient cane get out really easily.
Kime: The patient side (shown) of the door would not have a handle, but the employee side (the back of what we can see) would have had a handle.
ok...was this just a different angle ...becauase i know this is the same pic with the bed in ...this pic gives me the creeps...but i love that!
I need to put my sister in here when she argues with her b/f.
How depressing; how sad. What those poor people must have went through!
Yes, It's truly sad that people with mental problems were taken somewhere where they could receive specialized care and treatment 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Not every hospital, even today can give you the BEST in specialized care. My brother died from mental illness and I wish he could have found a great place with "specialized care".
Metal illneses may lead to suicide or ill person can died because he/she do not eat or ate something inedible but we cannot tell someone "died from mental illness" I think, beside acute catatonia states of course.
Nice room. I should make one for my brother when he annoys me.
Ten bucks says that the alleged "sound proof seal" didn't work too well.
I dont think its the same room as the one with the bed in it, this door doesnt have the "big ass hole" the other one did, lol.
Now this pic reminds me again of Dachau...they had little windows like this door has...
I really need to stop looking at these pictures while listening to music of the creepy/sad/sober sort. The song of Tristram (Blizzard/Diablo/Town) seems to click quite well with the visuals.
So if the gate infront of the window is to bring air in then what is it doing above the door also. .
The transom window above the door provides cross-ventilation, common in places built before air conditioning was widely used.
