i love these shots of the sun reflecting on to the wall , kinda makes it look like a window into a different world.
i think you see the schadow of an ghost
what is that white thing in the bottom right corner?
That white thing is strange:S maybe some sort of stain or a cardboard cutout with a person on it or something.. yeah that sounds strange:P but i really don't know what it would be...
I don't remember, probably a crumpled window shade or maybe asbestos piping.
bloody great shot, oh how i wish i could visit the states and look around all theses places
Wow.. I'm amazed by the pics and stunned by Motts curage to go into a place like this!
I am wondering what equipment you use to shot with?

Go to http://www.opacity.us/about/ and Mr. Motts explains exactly what photography equipment he uses. ;-)
oh yea thx for the link, that would be my very next question as i want to see how that m8y mr. motts look like. hehe and i love the "- Elevator shaft climbing -" photo hehe. very creepy. =D
This is a great pic, The paint on the walls chipping is great and the light on
I agree, the thing on the floor must be an something left behind although I don't think window shade would be it. Window shades have too many uses for the psychotic patient to use against themselves or others. They wouldn't allow something like that in a patients room. I have an Aunt that is both mentally and physically challenged and she has lived most of her life in a Nursing home until recently. My grandparents are at a loss with what to do with her-shes not insane just challenged and there arent alot of choices in my rural area for people like that. I am also an ex-nurse so I know a bit about psychiatric patients and the cautions involved in protecting them from themselves.
This is the most incredibly beautiful photo I've yet to see and is now my wallpaper. I doubt I will find another photo more beautiful than this one. The contrast of bare winter grays and golden sunshine is perfect. I'm so glad it's what greets me every time I turn my computer on. Thanks, Motts!
It looks so frigid, barren and lonesome. The low golden sun rays trying to being warmth. Heaven help the people that called this home ;/
What a nice big room. That white thing on floor looks kinda a body at first glance.
Such a combination of chill, warmth and decay, all in perfect balance!
more sunlight sneaking through, visible only on the wall, until it fades and disappears on the other side.
like how the window is open just a tiny bit.
This room feels so cold.
Cold, really? With the golden mirror image of the outside windows on the wall, it seems warm to me.
Splendid! Perfect light. Well-shaped windows. And those beautiful lamps, two of the so close together. Strange that the lamps are still there. Must have been so pretty once upon a time. Like a lot, indeed! :-)
