This is what they call a Geri chair its for elderly people
Just thinking about how old this chair must be, makes me wonder how the people were and everything.
Geri chairs are still used for the comfort and care of people who do not walk. This recliner could be found in any nursing care facility today.
Yeah they are found in hospital rooms too, especially surgery recovery rooms. When my grandfather was in the hospital for surgery 2 weeks ago, I sat in one of these (he didn't need it, he was in the bed, I'm not that mean!) and they are pretty comfortable...but not when you are stuck in a place like this with no one by your side.
These are used not only for the comfort of a resident but for their safety. When a resident movies around too much in a regular wheel chair or slides out of one too often they'll put them in a geri chair and the height and depth of it will keep them back far enough they can't slide out any longer but can still move around.
That's a bit creepy.
I think i would of least been comphy i dunno . It looks a bit creepy
We used to have competive races down the corridors of these old tired out ruins. It was a combination of entertainment for our charges and for our own peverse jollies.
I like the name for this pic...it goes with it well....This pics is great!

I HATE that chair !!!

Signed: An American Soldier in Germany.
It would be nice to race down the hall with, if it weren't rusty looking.
Buxton Chairs are similar, named after the Spa town in Derbyshire, not too far from me.
A padded wheelchair? Oh how cute, it would match the padded rooms! Sorry, I HAD to say it. Please excuse me. That comment was probably rude....shit.
Are you still planning on doing a book?
Another asymetrical door ! Only ever seen 'em here!
