Now THIS room looks like something out of Lovecraft...(shudder!)
5 years, and the building will either be torn down, or collapsed.
What IS that over in the left area like behind the light?? i dunno maybe i need glasses or something but if u look really close it looks like the mary and joseph from one of those light up nativities doesnt it?
If you mean that little white blob under the middle window (unboarded) sitting on the pile of bricks, I'm thinking it looks more like a light up snowman with a stick to roast marshmallows (with a red scarf around his neck and red buttons). But then I am a clinical psychologist, so I get paid to look for odd things like that. ;-)
ok, ok now you have me seeing things! I can see em both! STOP THAT!
if you look closey its just the light from outside coming in, and the colours in the light are the bricks. i think so anyway =]
i am with Lynne it a snowman
Avon's Snowman family. >>
I have noticed that this building has very unusual architecture, almost as if you are trapped in some sort of bizzare funhouse with all of the twisting, narrow corridors and sickening colors. The horror it must have been to have lived here.
I can't tell because I am not there, but did that brick crumble because of vandals or because of rot? If its by the hands of vandals then this place could be left standing for a few more years, provided the vandals don't have at it...
Nah, the brick parts of the building are so old and deteriorated that they have just started to crumble by themselves.
Wrong, dear Motts. It crumbled from me beating my head against it so many times. :-(
The damage is caused by water seeping into the masonry , freezing and thawing over time just tears the brickwork apart.
Wow, that room seems so...different, so...unique. There is somehting about it that I love.
It looks like it is the reflection of the sunlight coming in from the hole in the wall opposite it...
whats writen on the wall on the closest left wall??
the ceiling looks like a bladder ready to burst
terry d, thanks for a much-needed laugh!
The funny thing is, it does look like a bladder ready to burst, kind of like me in the morning after my Starbucks kicks in!
I pity the poor person this particular "bladder" bursts on,lol.
Strangely enough, in this sprawling mess of urban decay, the Anarchy symbol seems to fit.
this place is amazing.
I mus admit that this gallery goes to my fav today.
motts, can you recall what is written on the right wall?
No; I suppose I don't pay too much attention to most graffiti.
The curve of the asylum is starting to intruge me . . .
that is a great picture!
The ceiling looks like it's going to burst!
