Nice torch marks on the doors.
Someone finally opened the vault at Byberry using an incredible amount of energy and resources. End result? Shelves and condensation. Just like when they were open for six years in the 90's. (D'OH!)
Come on Ed, you know that you already got all the treasure...
We got a couple unopened safes at locals around here. I KNOW they are empty, but yet I'm convinced there is somthing good inside.
it's probably safer shut. (no pun intended...)
I explored an abandoned business that had a walk-in vault. When I first visited it was open but when I returned a year or two later it was closed and locked, which, as silkster said (and I thought) was less dangerous...
I think the designs on the doors and in the corners are beautiful
ed what was in the safe!
There was this beautiful blackn'gold safe at this abandoned building by the waterfront where I live. Closed though :(. I'm trying to remember the name, but all I come up with is "Buffalo Safe Co." which might not be it. I'm going back sometime and bringing my camera.
I'ld say you saw right. The name rang a bell with me as well. A Google search did not produce a website, but I did get their address...

Buffalo Safe & Lock Co
(716)674-1127
4063 Seneca St
West Seneca, NY 14224
have you ever found anything valuable and if so what happened to it
I don't think the dark areas are torch marks...........looks like wear and dirt from MANY years of use. Fabulous find!! BTW; I think it said "The Hall's Safe Co." in the prior photo........
This building has some wonderful features.......the fireplaces, arches & staircases are treasures! It's such a shame to see it unlived in this way....
It all might end up being like the "Al Capone's vault" thing.. lol. More than likely. But, it is fun to imagnine....
stupid reporter geraldo rivera. he should be castrated with those paddle things they use on bulls. but anyway the office complex at quincy shipyards have some of those buffalo safe co. safes. they also have german shepherds though = (
I recently found a nice Hall's Safe here in Illinois. patent and pictorals place it at around 1870. Now to open :)
i love how big keyholes always equals safer locks in most peoples minds. LoL. you could prolly stick a small child's hand in the keyhole and they could move the tumblers with their fingers hahaha
ok. all you need is an electrical angle grinder, a few spare discs and an alternator. cut a square around the locks and then you can open it manually.
how do i know? bevore i became a caregiver i worked at a locksmith.

but i think it`s better to let the inner secrets of the safe sleep. even if there is something inside.
it belongs to that beautiful building!!!!!!
The safe is starting to turn black from greed.
