You went at night? I would think it would be easier to get caught at night while using a flashlight... making you easier to be seen.
ps your not aloud there there are big signs but you can park in the trees so no one sees your cars
What I would say is take time to research the place before you go, watch the newsreel and try to understand what Pennhurst represented and some of the terrible things that took place there. Don't be a muppet and damage it or take souvenirs, treat it with the respect that Motts did and that I would if I had ever had the opportunity to take a look around.
PS-My mother never turned in her keys, so I now have access to the grounds but do not know how to get in and out with out having security.
When are you going again? Email me at: redingwarrior@aol.com
ANYTHING you want to know, i can help with it.
After all that, I am sad to admit that I am a wuss deep down in my subconcious, and again have to cut myself off from these horrible, yet very touching stories and videos I have been sucked into for hours now on this website. Call me a wuss if you must, but I've gotta do what I gotta do!
It's been a breathtaking visit at Pennhurst this morning and my heart goes out to all the residents that spent year after year in that horrible place!
It's been real!
Looks like the property could've been converted to office space or a properly run hospital or school or something rather than be abandoned
