It looks like dopey... I feel rather sad now that dopey was hidden by paint from the kids and they got the creepy stuff instead
I wonder why it was painted over... the colors are still quite vivid.
It looks to me like the character is over the rest..
That is painted ON the wall. My friend & I visited Pennhurst last night got really interested, so he talked to his mom about it. She used to work there, and painted that dwarf, and many other murals.
My mother painted this picture when she worked there as an aid..she was showing me pictures of her painting them and also her TA class did the black sheep picture..I have proof if you wanna see...xVilleValox@yahoo.com
Oh yeah there should also be Tweedle Dee and Tweedle dum, the mad hatter, the caterpillar on his mushroom, the rabbit from alice in wonderland, some things with horns on there noses, and some mushrooms and flowers..i havent been to the building she painted them in but im going soon, i'll take pics of what they look like now
you cannot see ALL of the pictures that Cody talked about, but most of them are there.
that is dopey, he is my favorite seven dwarf!! 8-)
It looks like Dopey escaped. He must have seen those horrible pictures in the basement playroom and gotten himself peeled away FAST!!!
Maybe they changed the room into something else and HAD to paint over it.
is the a smurf.....???
it's a dwarf from snow white.
This cartoon character looks like one of the seven dwarfs from the original Walt Disney animation film "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs".

He sort of looks like an EVIL version of Dopey.

Signed: An American Soldier in Germany.
looks like a animal
O My God some freaky shitttt
If I'm not mistaken (and I very well could be,) Disney threw a fit a while back about schools and hospitals painting murals of Disney characters without obtaining permission ( which never would have been given. ) In fact, I believe there were several lawsuits relating to such. I don't know whether Pennhurst was one of the involved, but since Dopey here has been painted over, it certainly seems plausible. . . then again, I believe the building had other, later uses as well, so the paintjob could have been because of that.
Even the past must peel away one day. . .
Why were there so many children there? Did parents just drop off their crippled, deaf, and/or blind children here? This is so sad th think that these children had to live there and endure so much coldness!
This reminds me of a story about one of the Seven Dwarves, that was painted on the wall at Camarillo State Mental Hospital in Cali. Story goes that there was an evil presence in this room, and when it was pissed off, the painted of Grumpy on the wall would change and have a sinister look on its face. That freaks me out! All these happy Disney paintings just don't belong in this hell hole of a place, or any of these institutions for that matter!
I wonder what they did to Dopey for the haunted house, maybe painted him with an evil face???
it looks like one of the seven dourves
@ilovezakbagans-Yes, it's Dopey.
