Tunnel Doors

Another great shot!You can see sunlight in this picture and it looks almost like a room of safety as in it makes me think of people dreaming of escape from this place.

I been in these tunnels, and they are "spooky" at night..
during the day light the place is depresing and lonley

Just a fair warning its strictly patroled now. just there last week they put up road blocks and street lights.... theres a security car now also........we were their several times before and always got in now we cant....

Speaking of escape, I wonder if anyone ever did?

its not being patroled i was just there 11/1/06 on a full moon so kali your way off wrong buildings.never been there during the day the nights the shit especially a full moon to hear some fucked up shit

It is most defenitly being patroled just sometime you can get in past them. I however got cought the last time i tried to get in.

Hey everyone, What up! Why is this pic being called a tunnel, last I remember they were called hallways. Tunnels are access holes that take you from point A to point B, and to the best of my knowledge, they also are underground. NOT!
HALLWAYS = ABOVE GROUND
TUNNELS = BELOW GROUND

oh man do I remember the tunnels. the tunnels connected all the bldgs. on the lower campus. came in handy during the winter for traveling Throughout the tunnels you had side rooms. there was a lot of weed smoking down there and a lot of hanky -panky also among the workers. oh the memories!

When i was it was so hott in the summer and still i saw my breath it was so crazy!

If u watch extreme paranormal on A&E they did a investigation on pennhurst.

I too saw the paranormal investigation with Zak and his crew. The impression I got was that it is very hard to imagine mankind being so cruel to other human beings, as depicted in this horible place. I guess the parents of the children never came to check on them once they 'put them away'. Very sad commentary.

BH I saw it also.............all I could think of was the 'asylums' set up by the Nazis in Germany. They 'experimented' on some of the 'undesireeables' before finally taking them to the 'ovens'......they were 'unworthy' of being in the Superior Aryan Society.
What really stunned me was that this place functioned until the late 1960's/early 70's and NO ONE on the staffs reported it......none of the doctors, nurses, maintenance or caretakers........no one spoke up.

yea why did no one catch this sooner? than 1987!! that is ridculous!

Does anyone know where the tunnel door that says "Murder Me" is? My friends and I stumbled upon that door when we went there and we're going on a second trip for photography but I totally forgot where the door is.

i hope the people who are burning down these buildings are caught...

I tried to get in for a photo shoot and the owners wouldn't even return my call. The preservation unit was all for the photo shoot there. But sadly we could not get permission to go in.

I wish I was like 20 and was able to do stuff like that but I am only 14 the most of haunted houses that I have seen are in the asylem(ashmore astates) in Illinois...

It wasnt legal but all we did was go looking for acounts of misstreatment... then we kind of got really scared and ran so fast we seemed like a blur, I sware!

Just the thought of having to walk down tht hallway freaks me out!
