so much sadness abd horror
I look at that chair and cant help but think of the small child that struggled to get on and off of that chair.
ha ha.. i know this is completly wrong, but i just had an image of a cirucus midget doing tricks on that chair... it was kinda funny!! Sorry, the picture is eerie, but the thought/image was funny!
And here ~Me sits thinkin that I was the only one who saw the midget doing tricks!
I have been to Pennhurst about 10 to 15 times. I love every adventure that I have there. This is above and beyond one of the most unique and emotional pictures that I have ever witnessed...Bravo!!
We sat in chairs like that at my Infant school!
that thing behind the chair looks like the machine they used to use to amputate arms, and legs.
The standard hospital bed looks like something to amputate arms and legs? I need to see this limb-chopping machine. :-)
awsome Picture Motts!!!
this is really freaky
On 1/2/10 the Travel Channel showed a series on this place called Ghost Adventures. Catch the re-run if you get the chance. This facility looks like a college campus---huge. And all the bldgs are connected by underground tunnels. The GH team interviewed several doctors who were in their early 20's when they tended patients there and they told horror stories that Stephen King couldn't come up with.....for instance: if a patient had more than 3 incidents of biting staff members they'd get all their teeth pulled. And he clamied there were some 'retarded' kids there as infants that hadn't been taught how to walk by age 5 or 6. He also remembered 'criminals' sentenced to the facility who took sexual advantage of those unable to fend for themselves. All I could think of was the facilities Hitler set up in Nazi Germany to 'rid society' of 'undesirables' who were subjects of all kinds of experiments before being sent to 'the ovens'..........
Ricardo I saw that same show, which now has me interested in this subject. So sad to see all those children and how devasting it was for them. God Bless the man who blew the lid off the situation.
I just watched that show as a rerun. Being a mom to a special child, i find that institution to be just awful!! I can't imagine placing anyone in a place of that nature. Kudos to the man that exposed the atrocities that occured there. If only more people would speak up and protect those that can't for themselves. My heart breaks just thinking about those poor people.
My daughter and I watched this show on ghost in the closed hospital and were very disappointed that this could go in a place where you entrust professional workers to take care of your children who are unable to take care of themselves. It's a shame there can be no punishment for the people that did this or let it happen, (doctors and nurses). The dentist chair is the worst and what they did to those kids is totally inhumane.
A small person to sitdown on may still be around. . .
ricardo, just got done watchin the rerun.omg its just so sad the people who put their family members in that place should be made to stay all nite but than again if the had a heart or cared at all they would have went to check on their family members makes me sick i would love to have five mins with some of those asses would love to know more about the place i also went to the web site please email me at dinky_alvis71@yahoo.com thanks
I cant wrap my head around stuff that is thathorribal1 It makes me sick to my stomach that no one saw what was happening...
I dont know how the staff could sleep at night with what they did everyday to these poor people.
Very Very Sad
