Attic Light

Light streamed into this dusty attic, where a large vulture seemed to be living.

What an intriguing shot! Fabulous light!
Fantastic Shot! Great Photography. You should enter this shot into a Photography contest!!
Does anyone else see the little ghostie...? : )
do you mean the shadow figure at the bottom left of the window?
Yeah, I see the little ghostie. Mott, explain what that may be........
The vulture was hopping around during this long exposure shot.
yep,the child at the bottom left of the window..:P,funny,someone pointed it out at a ghosthunting site.
Dude... I think you guys are looking too hard, or maybe I just don't have enough imagination. I don't see a shadow figure, or a child, or anything like that. The thing at the bottom left of the window just looks like a big pillow to me. (Although I guess the photographer has said it's just the vulture, time-exposed, anyway. But it doesn't even look like a person at all to me.)

But anyway. I agree, beautiful shot, no matter what the thing is!
It appears as if it is someone with long dark hair ether walking up the attic steps either with something slung over the shoulder or someone sitting against the wall with their arm over their knee. You can only view it threw the sun light streaming in. WHAT A WONDERFUL SHOT!
Incredible shot!I don't see anything that could be considered paranormal in this picture but I have no doubt this place is absolutely and completely haunted.
I've never seen an attic so clean!!! Where's the boxes of stuff?
Amazing. It captures the beauty and the eeriness that is Pennhurst.
vultures? in royersford? wtf? u gotta be kidding, i dont think theres any vultures in Pennslyvania, let alone Lil' Ole Rofo! and Motts, do u live in PA? o and Pennhurst, as ive been there many times, is being used as a Veterans center. wouldnt that be great to work there? Oh, and one more thing, Motts. did u happen to see any of the fabled underground passageways? that was the way i got into Pennhurst when i was found out by one of the V.C.'s guards!
Maybe they were giant hawks, but they looked a lot like vultures to me. I've seen them on the sides of roads more than once although I don't live in PA. I haven't needed to go underground because almost all the buildings are connected by tunnels above ground, and if they weren't I went up and over without a problem.
I can confirm vultures definitely live in Pennsylvania.Turkey vultures in most of the United States,Pennsylvania included.
yes, turkey vultures, but not full fledged movie, Wile E. Coyote vultures. and a correction on my part: vultures? in royersford? wtf? sorry, Pennhurst in in Spring City, not royersford.
Turkey Vultures are for the most part like the Wil E Coyote vultures.Have you ever seen one? They grow from about 25 to 32 inches long and have a wingspan of about six feet.Thats not a small bird by any means.
At the bottom left of the window it looks like a tormented child's face.
Looks like the vulture, the bird of death, reigns supreme at this place. He's got the luxury suite up there, it seems!
I was at this abandoned school before, however I only went in as far as the foyer. It was too scary, and quiet. My friends swore they heard someone scream so we took off running. If I would have seen some of these pictures I probably would have never gone! There Freaky!
A vulture? There was a vulture living there? Wow. Just WOW. No shots of the vulture itself?
Man, that's so [insert abusive word here] COOL!

A vulture...

Living in the attic...

Of an abandoned building with a gloomy past!

How can that possibly be more AWEsome?
I've never seen any of this in the daytime.
its a turkey vulture...they are everywhere around here
Perhaps one of the most amazing photos that I have ever seen. I love the way that the light depicts a real sense of desolation and despair...Bravo!!
this is a great picture, the ray of light shining through, gives it character, well done!!
I have looked at ALOT of the pics that people see images in, and have never seen anything; BUT in this pic, I can see an image that looks like a childs face looking at the camera.... SWEET!!!
You guys ever been to pennhurst...... ghosts are definitly prominent.... it very well could be one...... though ive never witnessed a vulture there....... you need a pic of the cafeteria....then youll be set...... great picture though but it doesnt send the creepieness so much though that really is there.
Very beautiful picture...I wish I had Motts talent :-D
This picture is actually kind of "peaceful" looking; especially knowing where it's located.
hey guys havent been on 4 a while..... anyway, instead of turkey vultures, they could have benn just TURKEYS themselves... they are everywhere around here!
Um...I see no "ghost" , but this shot is fantastic. It almost looks like the window and bricks are in the foreground. Very cool.
looks like resident eveil to me
There's a second ghost in there, ladies and gentlemen.
It helps if you can brighten the image and zoom in (if you have the facilities) She's small and faint, but if look carefully to the second mast (from the enterance) in the left row; there looks to be a child hugging tightly to the pole - her chin tucked into the shoulder. If you look just left of the poll, at the very base, you will find a definite contrast in light and shadow that gives the impression of a night gown - scan up to find her arm. look hard. she's there.

After adjusting the contrast, she almost looks skeletal.
Err... Not that I believe in ghosts. But both do look very cool.
very nice work ! {a picture is worth a thousand words}
wall paper anyone?
Buzzards or not good pic.
I see it! I see it
Good friggin-ness. Take a moment to appreciate the picture and stop with the ghosts crap. Good Lord! Can't we just enjoy a wonderfully captured moment and take it for what it is?
Nope. We all have a responsibility to try and friggin-freak everyone out. :D
i can clearly see something that looks like a face at the lower left corner of the window frame, and if i zoom in with 700% and brighten it up i also see something left of the 2nd pole, but for this one it needs realy much fantasy to be turned into something like a figure.

btw. beautiful shot, as always!!! :-)))
This picture is really pretty, the way the light streams in through the hole in the roof and how the brick wall seems to light up. Very nice.
The attic of the Philadelphia building is UNBEARABLY hot in the summer.
the face under left window
This is an amazing shot. Pennhurst is an incredible location, and I can't imagine anyone's photos doing it justice but yours.
Breathtaking shot. Would love this as wallpaper.
nice this picture is amazing I like the lighting but that shadow in the back beneath the window looks more like a cushion stuck to the window i could see that maybe it does look like there is something behind it though ,,,,, most of the pennhurst patients would hide behind things if they were afraid I dont know this for a fact but how would u feel if people kept u in a place were u could never see family or u lived in poor conditions i'd be weirded out a little ass for the tunnels im going down them probaly the safer way to get in considering that police arrested some kidds for trespassing,. I also heard some rummers that someone bought peenhurst and planes to nock every thing down can some one check if thats true nice pics though u should get some from inside the tunnels under pennhurst
that pic is ace
innocent hidden child
You're all nuts.
The object at the window is the insulation that covered the entance door at bottom right of window . It is a good pic .
I think this would be a place to hide from the doctors. . .
Looking at this makes me feel really angry for some reason...
Beautiful Shot----makes me think of hope!
I really like this picture. Good job!
YOU ARE ALL INSANE!!! You freaks that think there is some kind of person or ghost or what ever in this picture should go to a nice puffy cell that is all white!!!
I completely agree wit GaGaJones! I see nothing! But it does have nice lighting....
Belleview quiet time for alla ya! It's BIRD !
Another stunning shot.
Wow... What can I say? This has to be one of the most stoic shots I have ever seen. And almost eerie as well. Looks like the place may have been fenced at one time. Meaning, there was a passageway created by strategic fencing to keep certain things stored in the attic from the ubiquitous Five Finger Discount. Also, could have been used to put the really bad crazies they didn't want the State Inspectors to find out about... Or at least when they didn't pay them handsomely to look the other way... Really very sad what went on here though...very sad.
