Tunnel Clown

Tunnel Clown

Traversing the tunnel revealed a lot of drawings on the walls, a strange place for decorating the walls. At the end was the most feared of all children's nightmares, an angry tunnel clown!

And people wonder why some kids don't like clowns... Great place for one - in a dark tunnel.
Now I know what I'll be for Halloween....an Angry Tunnel Clown!!
first thought - John Wayne Gacey
Chicago resident here. I agree twinkle...looks like Gacy.
The evil clown from "It".
Lol, my thought exactally,"IT"!
twinkle - I had the very same thought as you - John Wayne Gacy.....
Very weird place for a clown painting.....
I am BigDotThe Clown and I have been feared many times now I know why. But, That doesn't explain people
asking me to leave game rooms because they are afraid
WOW ! here's the clown that looks down from the clouds in the previous pic
You think kids are the only ones who detest clowns?
ugh, I hate clowns
As if I needed one more reason to fear clowns. The photo is great, no doubt about that. The subject just happens to be a permanent resident in my own private hell.
No way, Gacey all the way.
*Gacy
Looks like the clown from Poltergeist. Scary creepy shot! thanks for the nightmares tonight Motts
I agree, it bears an uncanny resemblance to Gacy.Ugh
can't sleep, clowns will eat me
ugh. clowns are wrong on every level.
Clowns get such a bad rap these days, but I always thought they were sad, not happy -- and who wants to be sad! I remember seeing Emmett Kelly, the most famous clown in the world, ever, at Madison Square Garden, when I was a kid -- everyone was laughing at him, but I wasn't. Early bi-polar, problem, maybe!
A few strange, weird, creepy clown stories I would highly recommend: Thomas Ligotti's "The Last Feast of Harlequin", Ramsey Campbell's "The Other Side", and James Powell's "A Dirge for Clowntown".
Thanks, isabeats -- will check them out.
That clown would scare John Wayne Gacy.
I've been through that tunnel so many times. How did I never notice this mural?
John Wayne Gacy was my first thought.
Glad to see you all concur!
This is triple creepy.
looks like penny wise to me
I.C.P. in the house.
Why is the waistband of his pants wider than he is?
I think that's actually a barrel that he is standing in, not pants. But I could be wrong :)
Omg Its that damm clown again. When I went through this underground tunnel and saw that clown ..I thought I was gunna have a heart attack... I HATE CLOWNS!!!
The first thing that came into my mind when I took one look at this monsterous clown is;

EVERYTHING FLOATS DOWN HERE !!!

Remember that book written by Stephen King called "It" ?

The clown called Pennywise ?

What a CREEPY drawing of a clown !!!

Signed: An American Soldier stationed in Germany.
I'd have to say KMK it referring to Kottonmouth Kings, who is in association with juggalos "down with the clown" they paint their faces up like clowns.
So not cool, I hate clowns. They frighten me greatly. I think I would shit myself if I saw this in a dark hallway. *shudder*
hah wow it looks like me before my haunted house shut down!!!
What the fuck? I would run if I saw a clown like that. Sorry if the profanity offends anybody. I had a lot to drink while looking at this site.
Looks like that actor-can't think of his name-who plays Mafia bosses and such. You know, the one with the short hair and thick lips.
It sorta does look like Gacy-any way of telling if this is an original to the hospital painting or just more graffitti?
It's VERY creepy that when I was looking at the previous basement picture, I was thinking "It would be really scary if there was a picture of a clown on the walls there."

And there it is!

Fortunately, for me, this particular clown is ugly, not scary. But the coincidence of me thinking about it - and then seeing it - is creepy.
You've coined a phrase (angry tunnel clown) that I think is going to stay with me for life!!
so instead of insane clown possie, it can now be angry tunnel clown!!!
creepy
kind of nutty lookin clown i would be mildly disturbed but happy to see this peice of history
EEEK! Clowns are just wrong anyway! A full grown man..dressed up to entertain kids?
i too thought of jwg when i saw this particular clown ... ewww.
Nixon the Angry Tunnel Clown will eat your children.
I'm glad you like my drawing.
reminds me of the clown and whatever else they painted on the walls in pennhurst weird minds in charge of the institutions
my phobia of clowns just came to a whole new level.
I would like to second that motion....I thought Penny Wise was scary....
scary as heck!
*stares at all the "Ack, I Hate Clowns!!" posts...heehee.
Hmm. For all you Simpsons fans, Let's hear it for Krusty! *tries the "Hogwarts method", imagining hilarious stuff about something scary*
I'm not sure if it was the construction of this tunnel, or something that comes with all tunnels, but when you stood quietly in the center of the tunnel (such as to gaze at this horrifying mural) your breathing would cause this echoing humming that would get deeper the longer you stood there.
Chuckie: TOMMY!! CLOWN! I"M SCARED!!!
Tommy: It's OK Chuckie! I'll squirt my milk at him!
My God.

Not only is it a clown.
But it's an ANGRY TUNNEL CLOWN!

That's the stuff of my nightmares, right there...

I can look at dead people, and deal with vomit and blood and people who stuff drugs up their arses... But clowns... No WAY.
Apparently --- someone thought that this would be a bright spot in the day of .........?????????? who? How about a pastoral scene? an aquatic scene? baby animals? a smiling sun? and not a hideous frickin' clown next to a grandstand of faces - AAAACHCHCHCHKKKKK
The one good thing about this building's demise is that it took this freaky creepy tunnel clown with it.
As though hospital isn't scary and traumatic enough without subjecting children to evil clowns, painted on the walls of dark and claustrophobic basement tunnels... how many children saw this and felt more freaked out by it, rather than comforted like the artist had (hopefully) intended?
ugh.. hate clowns.. creeeeeepppy.
OH MY GOD *falls off chair*
Its strange but I dont remember seeing this clown...Im happy about that LOL
