I don't know why, but that shot just looks so serene, and beautiful, and it also holds a very Session 9-esque look.
Thanks, I think any photo of a wheelchair lit in a dark room will be forever tainted by that movie though... heheh.
What happend to the guy in the wheelchair?
Good point, Sven-Erik...I always wonder about that, how these randomly dispersed wheelchairs just get there. It's quite odd, kind of haunting to think of.
While I was in Cuba (extremely spooky place) you could walk through random abandoned places and find chairs everywhere, in the middle of the room, in the middle of an overgrown yard, facing the corners of rooms, but I have to say one of the weirdest finds was one in the middle of an open bay shower....just sitting there. meh....All in all the whole place was sickeningly Session 9. hahaha
This place does have a very DSH-ish feel to it.
I think some places I've seen on this site even surpass Danvers. What's sad is that we all seem to measure them up against it. heh.
i love it.. its like theres someone in the chair looking outside as if they havent seen the outside world in years... its kind of sad and haunting but i love it... i really wanna know how that got there though.
I would wager a lot of money that it was shoved out of the way by some security guy who didn't want to trip on his route, or an inspector checking to see if the building was still safe enough to leave standing.

Its not like there was this The Ring-like person screaming in the chair, and then some exaggeratted horror-cliche orderly came in and chopped them up, while their family waited outside in a white minivan waiting for their daughter to be released, which of course she never was....

Stop being so darn gothic and sensationalistic.
I'll make a deal Thomas when you stop being an idiot we will stop being sensational.Oh wait that won't happen anytime soon!
Something very mournful about this shot.
Boy ! you all missed this one! It's the beauty shop room!!!!!!
What a sad little bathroom to come to have to come to and wash your hands in.

How un - dignified for these people in the last years of their lonely lives.

I HATE THESE PLACES SO MUCH !!!

man this pic reminds me of the changling
srry for freaking out!
This is a fantastic shot, Motts. I love it.
Yes, they just pushed me up to the sink here and..
Actually I sort of think this photo is sort of hopeful. The way the light is shining down upon the wheelchair like that, its like the occupant finally escaped up the light, leaving just the wheelchair behind after him/her
looks like a cleansing of the soul
so....nursing homes are depressing? Personally, my opinion of some of 'em is, why not make it a little more aesthetically pleasing while still being easy to clean? ...On the other hand, certain places will likely always smell stale and seem overcrowded with invisible boredom.
where?? the projects? lol
