lovely colors
I really like what you did with this shot. This is a picture I could look at over and over again and keep finding something new about it each time.
GOSH THE WINDOWS ARE SPECTACULAR...WOW...WOW...WOW...AND SO ON..ITS SOOOO FAB!!!!
I like this one. The colors coming through those windows are amazing! Very well captured!
I want the 3 in the middle... ok.... and the two on the end.... [Im writing a shopping list of items I want motts to pick from the Kirkbride for me]
I really wish I did have those windows though, they are absolutely stunningly georgous!!!!
The window design with the outer edges being stained glass--was that a Kirkbride signature?
Motts, what did these windows look out onto?
Must've been lovely when this was a new institution....lovely colors that reflected sunlight in so many ways.
I'm not sure which direction these were facing, but chances are they looked out over the sprawling lawn, the river, and the mountains behind them, a very nice scene!
These windows were part of the patients dining room and they are facing south and are located in the north wing. Yes they are very beautiful and you do not see craftsmanship like this anymore. we hated to leave it behind.
i am a sucker for stained glass windows
beautiful shot
oh my!
These windows are.... in spite of insurmountable odds.......still trying to shine in all of their previous glory. You captured it perfectly!
beautiful windows
that's my living room (then I wake up)
how beautiful those windows must have been!
...red...yellow...blue...yellow...red
the color makes these windows anything but the boring, utilitarian stuff seen in the other places!
Sites like this are fascinating but they really invite a nasty faction of humans...who lurk about to scout out their next heist and they feel very justified in doing so - so when I'm cruising around these sites I can't help but keep that in the back of mind. Sometimes I just think that we should just happen upon these ourselves and not be prompted by the photos of others.........but.......then again, those of you who may be tempted to loot...don't. It's no wonder it's so hard to get into these places. Destruction and thievery ruin it for everyone.
I can't believe they haven't been broken!
How splendid! This was a warm room back in the days, only one radiator. Sunny! It is still lovely despite the boarded up windows and the decay. Imagine this as a dining room, with a huge table, by those wondows, and the lovely view!
Well done.

Question: What is the first letter of the word "abandoned?"
