Eden's Room

Eden's Room

This strange room was isolated from the rest of the building... to get here you needed to enter a connecting hallway then climb a flight of stairs.

it looks very sterile, maybe some type of isolation ward.
Amazing! I love this (of course, the whole gallery, actually) shot!

Now, my Husband's old childhood room at his parents' in Buffalo is built similar, and when we stayed there for a visit, I've whacked my noggin several times on those out-cropping walls! Grrr!

I wonder how the patients and staff kept themselves from bumping into those? lol

(I try to refrain from posting to every page, but it's hard, every photo deserves a rip-roaring rave! Thank you, Motts!) :o)
This room was in the administration area and difficult to access, I would bet not one patient has seen this area.
heh Micheles I pretty much post on every pic,if opacity was a woman I would marry it!
Motts, very interesting.

I wonder what it was used for??
i think maybe "special people"
ORCHID LUNAR, I AGREE WITH YOU ALL THE WAY!!!
LOL, Orchid, ditto!
We had a similar space where I used to work, it was for training staff. Just a big room with hospital beds, wheelchairs, dummies etc. We would practice transfering patients, dressing them, all that stuff. I could be totally wrong, but that was my first thought when I saw this pic. Beautiful shot too.
What's all this talk about marrying Opacity? I would just marry Motts, then he could take me to all these outrageous places!
A computer room for teaching staff to use computers.
I wonder if at one point it's secludedness was abused...hmm...if this is the hospital I'm thinking of I believe it was.
yet another room that would be cool for a bedroom!
I like this room. Has feeling. Looked to be sunny and bright in its hayday. Maybe it could have been for special visitors, like special doctors and they needed place to stay while visiting instead of have pay roam and board at a motel or bed and breakfast. Just a thought.

And Mottts I am sincerely hooked to your site. I have tried just this morning to visit others of abandoned places, and none can hold the candle to yours. Yours is awesome and you give details of every pic you make. That makes me understand more about the pic. Thanks much.
Deaf Angel, I know exactly what you mean. There are so many sites that just post the pics with no information. This site is definitely one of the best!

Thank you very much Motts. :)
Some of these rooms really look in good condition.
Judging by the boards on the wall by the door and the type of lighting I wouldn't think that anyone stayed here. I agree with amy on this one.
wow cool pic
It looks like some kind of classroom to me too. Wouldn't be medical, being in the administration section, and a boardroom would be more decorated. The lights say classroom. Could be for Staff meetings too. I agree; the photograpy is beautiful and the comments, both by Motts and the readers makes this site very interesting. I love it.
I sense it was very sad here... Just the way the window is... Great shot though!
I do not think that I like this room very much. The windows are not big enough to let very much light into the room. This room looks it was used for medical training classes and or some sort of break room or something like that.

I,M Thinking it,s an Office
It could have been a sort of staff resting area. Seperated from the chaos of the asylum. Like at one point maybe it had beds, tables, chairs. A break room that's what I was looking for as the right words!
