What exactly is an autoclave? *pulls out dictionary* Oh, a "sterilizer using super heated steam under pressure." Interesting.
We use autoclaves in dentistry. So it is weird for me to see an old one like this.
casle they made those dental exam light
s i hated
Castle Sterilizer was originally Wilmot Castle. They were the second most popular large sterilizer manufacturer in the US, behind AMSCO
(American Sterilizer Company). Castle was purchased by Getinge and AMSCO was purchase by STERIS. This is a nice old machine and would be considered a Medium size Steam Sterilizer. I have been a Biomedical Electronics Technician for over 30 years and know just about all medical Equipment. I don't like Castle either!
Holy crap that would make a great parts degreaser for my engine rebuilds!
I don't think grease is water soluable. good one tho.
Autoclaves can also be used for heat treating componants, & have a high internal pressure so it's not a good idea to open one when it's running.
That is in Hilltop
sometime last spring somebody tried to steal the locking mechanism from that peticular autoclave. I dont think they realized how heavy it was, for it was laying onyl about 4 feet away near the door of the room. I didnt realize either when i tried to take it and it felt like a pulled a muscle trying to lift the damned thing...
that would look great on my wall
