Document Room

Hmm... someone seemed to push thousands of pounds of paperwork into this solarium, then they seem to have been set on fire at some point. The amount of paper in here is incredible, it's almost waist deep at some places, and packed down hard enough to walk on without falling through.

Some things in the pile: EMS training instructions, financial and other paperwork for a nearby hospital, court orders for homicides and stabbing cases, and EMS transcripts from patients admitted because of violent crimes or accidents.

wow...
now this is a totally mind boggling picture
awwwwwwwww no more pictures :-(
Looks like my office, only i have less lighting
Heh, actually the room is almost pitch black, I took several exposures of me lighting various parts of the room with my flashlight.
This looks like the amount of paperwork I need to do to register for classes each semester.
Awsome shot man!!!!!!! so far my fav of the series
shit that is alot of papers 4 one room
Incredible
Amazing shot. Brilliant work, taking multiple exposures with the flashlight. What I am wondering...what are homicide files doing in a TB hospital?
It's all just old paperwork from other hospitals in the area, I don't know why they didn't dispose if it properly.
Reminds me of a small-town newspaper I worked at long ago. They took all the ruined newsprint from the begining of press runs, calibrations, etc. and tossed it into a steel machine shed. By the time I worked there the shed was filled halfway to the ceiling with newspapers. Apparently nobody was willing to recycle TONS of paper without being paid and heaven forbid that they'd do THAT! -_-
Seems Very disrespectful, if any patient files are in that mess
Were there any patient files Motts?
I would love to sit down and read everything in that mess A Sunday afternoon would be nice
Scary and chaotic.
Forget patient files... did anyone think to check if there were PATIENTS under there? I hope the floor is strong. And, it looks like somebody dumped all this stuff there and is patiently waiting for it all to just... go away.
I looked at this, and all I thought was "Eww... bet there's rats in there."
They look like they've been wet at some time, making them harder to read.

A pity.
I believe I saw something similar at Forgotten Ohio.
huge waste. i hate waste of paper - think about the trees.
and also think about how much money would id be worth sold for recycling
This is a amazing pic.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i would love to go around readong some of the pappers...id hang them on my wall HAH!
this is really sad that they would just leave files behind to rot especially if those are patients files.
was it just easier to leave everything than to destroy it?? it just seems that in these large facilities that they would have either 1) sold the equipment, and 2) shredded the paper work, were they just willing to spend the time doing it???
I seriously doubt they ever thought this photo would appear on the internet.
Wish you would have taken some pics of some documents.
THATS nuckin futs O_O
I'm laughing so hard my sides hurt. This is just nuts.
So much for HIPAA.
Worst job in the world #120: Cleaning this room up. :-)
Can you believe that a hospital would walk off and leave your whole medical history for the world to see?!
Yes, I can believe that, Tara. Does anyone care anymore? Would love to just spend a little time on all that paperwork; just for curiosity.
the world angers me... OF COURSE there are patient files in there. they tried to burn it at some point... i hate hospitals... so many dirty secrets left to rot.
Doesn't Cas just know it all? This is a lawsuit waiting to happen.
That is insane!!!!!!!!
haha Puddleboy "I seriously doubt they ever thought this photo would appear on the internet."

"Hey Bob, you know all that paper you were supposed to take to the recycler... you did that, right? Normally I wouldn't ask but I was visiting this site...."
*sob!* This just makes my life so much harder! There are lots of archives that would have been thrilled to take on files like these. This has happened all over the place. When the Ellis Island Hospital closed they turned off the lights and walked away. 20 years later people reported seeing patient charts blowing all over the island. Now it is impossible to know who passed through there or what really happened...
Thats some valueable history in there... imagine all the answers that could lie in that pile.
wow that is amazing.. think of the stories and lives that are explained in that room....wow
Scattred sub-basements bring fortune to those who seek beneith the surface
My mind ,your mind..........
thats unbelievable. makes my fathers desk look neat. but that is a very odd way to try and dispose of all that paper, since you say it had been set on fire at one point. its very odd, but makes for an incredible picture.
my girlfriend is a photographer she will love these i would love to visit this place. I used to go to many abandoned places. let me know if there's some good places like this in PA or in Ohio
does anyone know how long tuberculosis actually lives in a building after it is vacated?????
thats a big version of my filing cabinet
omg papers lol if i had the time I would of gone through some of hem probably some interesting story’s in there
wow that would make some interesting reading..
this looks like a room we came across in the red cross hospital in Taplow
This picture makes me want to cry.. I'd probably sit there and read it all or get a bull dozer to carry all the papers to my car... What a waste of history.
im barried under all that!!!!!!!! GET ME OUT!!!
woo stabbing cases

creepy
I would hate to have to clean that mess up.
Looks like me when I have to do taxes! Great gallery, thanks.......
that I thought would be spocky but now I saw all the pictures it is not scary at all!!
*Jumps up and down on the paper* haha
Out of all your shots so far, Motts, this is the one into which I would most like to be inserted - just so I have the privilege of saying that I've seen thousands of pounds of paper at once.
thats alot of lives that has been touched, wow
i know ppls privacy is a big issue, but using all the medical information to possibly learn more about TB or any other disease a patient there could've been inflicted with would have been great... I think it's a horrible waste....
wow.........
Thank God for modern computers and external hard drives.
good luck finding the papers you need in tht conglomeration!
That makes me sad for some reason
That'd be overwhelming when you're in there.

I'd be interested to sit down and read a bit.
Wow, this is very interesting; I'd love to look through some of those.
It would appear that this was common practice in those kind of settings...
I'd love to visit there and just read the history of random people . . . . why on earth would they set fire to it?
Y on earth would there be paper work for court orders for homicides and stabbing cases don’t you think that should be in a court house and not left too root....my god wonder if they are unsolved cases? i hope not if the are hope there family’s don’t find out...... good sot keep up the good work.
clean your room or you will not be able to play in the morgue
lol!! i love the 4th comment!!
I bet all this paper weighed a TON! Surprising the floor held up all these years. Oh, BTW, cockroaches love environments like this. =8-O
holy crap!!!
wow....i wonder why this paperwork wasnt maybe destroyed instead of just left................i admit..id like to read alot of these documents
