Any idea why the switches would be on? Was there some kind of emergancy back then?
Just someone playing around with switches most-likely.
My understanding would be that the switches would be left in the 'on' position, and in event of a power failure, the battery would automatically cut in. The switches were probably to cut off power to lights if they were being worked on.
Where the batteries like car batteries? If so it wouldn't be a good idea to mess with them because of the acid inside.
castle also made generators? i thought they only did autoclaves and medical equipment
Castle makes (or used to) lights for dental units, so lights are definately part of their forte!
