The Box

Not sure what these were, they seemed to have a heating or cooling pipe inside.

intriguing...
we heard footsteps comming at us...noone was there
DO ppl realize that when you are visiting old buildings like this, your mind plays tricks on you. You will hear footsteps and see strange lights, etc. because you WANT to. You want to believe there are "spirits" and "ghosts". There may be some truth to them, but nine times out of ten, it is your imagination. It's happened to me countless times. Some I believe, most I don't.
Intriguing
I dont believe i all this scary shit. But if I had a run in with the paranormal, believe you me i'll be the first one out the fuckin door. Has any one been to one of those rundown prisons ye, that would be sweet to go to
Most of the time it is your mind playing tricks on you, you are the victim of your own imagination. Then other times it is group effect. Your friend is scared, they are acting in a frightened manner you pick up on this and get scared yourself. More to that point they start saying things that put ideas "into your head" and you start buying into it. Then yet again there is the proven fact that the human mind tries to make sense of items or objects. You look at a cloud "hey that looks like ____ doesn't it" or you see a face in a shadow. Your brain has evolved to do this over the years. Children learn what their parents faces look like first… your brain will try to make sense of anything.

Seriously guys and I am not trying to be rude but if their were spooky things waiting to get you around every corner you would hear about it on the news all the time. Simple fact is the world is just much more simple than that.
But WHAT was that for???
We always thought it was an incubator of some type. Notice the adjustment knob at the top of the pipe?
That pipe looks like a snake trying to get in lol..Anyone else?
its a refrigerator or sumthin
cook ing in a frig?
I too had been wondering what these obscure cupboards where used for. They are accessible from both the hallways and the patient rooms; The only conclusion I could come to was that the metal brackets may have been used to hold boxes of sorts in place, to be heated or cooled. I'm sure they must have been used often to have been accessible from both the rooms and the halls, to enable a nurse to remove it's contents even without entering the room.

So interesting.
Thorn I think your right about people's imaginations getting the best of them and creating problems, fear, irrational feelings ect.I have Bipolar-Disorder and I { used } to smoke heaps of hydro and my mind would scare me to death and my imagination almost killed me.DG...
I am an OR nurse and these are still used in many hospitals today. They are used to warm blankets. They are especially helpful if the patient must be quarentined. The blankets and sheets can be stocked for the patient by the linen staff without the germs spreading in or out of the room.
Thanks OR nurse!
