Yes, I love the angle this photo was taken. Gives that view of being in a horror film...running down the hall...in fear of what's chasing you from behind...trying to make it to that open door. The narrow passage makes the viewer feel entrapped.

I, personally can't find anything scary about Glenndale, but you should be careful.
My weird Glenndale story is the the same transient asked me for a cigarette twice, once last august and once about 2 months ago. Freaky

Holy crap. That makes me claustrophobic just looking at it. I can't imagine having to walk down that hallway every day. Waaaaaay too narrow for my liking.

I've been in every building at the place, but the Narrows is by far one of the spookiest places to walk through. For one, the windows on the right look down on the Police trailor; so in the daytime you have to almost crawl. The doors on the left are medical supply rooms, with large glass cabinents and some lockers. Once, we broke an old padlock on the locker open, and inside were several patient smocks, with "Glenn Dale Hospital" and some numbers stamped on the front. It was freaky. Also, you can find old needles, test tubes, pills, etc on the floor. Definately one of the most unnerving parts of the hospital.

About the guy who asked someone for a cig...depending on where you were it might not be a "bum", I've lived in Glenn Dale for 22 years, there's a guy who lives on or near Elm Street (right by the hospital) who askes EVERYONE, even cars driving by for cigs, but he's no bum. I don't know how this pic looks scarry to people when its daylight out?

Well, I have often thought how cool it would be to explore abandoned sites such as this one (with a burly and brave companion, of course)...but after the mention that there is asbestos, I don't know how wise a thing that would be to do... Still, IF those walls could talk... THAT is what appeals to me the most about any abandoned structure: the HISTORY and the people that came and went through there. Sadly, in a sanitorium such as this, many folks who ended up there didn't leave alive, I imagine (especially the children). Personally, my mother told me that I had a mild case of Tuberculosis as an infant... glad I survived...
