I agree with Trevor. Graffiti is not art and is not appreciated by those of us with refined tastes. It is petty vandalism. 'Tho those who tag well, should take their art and do something good with it. There is great talent out there. As for Braaa!, sounds like "in urban latvia there is a large(?) telescope."

Well said about grafitti. The good stuff belongs on the walls of youth centres and other specified places... MAYBE even brightening up dull concrete bridges and culverts... in other words where it's appreciated rather than being an eyesore on something beautiful. Tags on the other hand are just dumb. Why the desire to leave a mark anyway?

Either way, this dish would still be an amazing place to wath the stars with a loved one.

Sorry rich, I guess I was vague. I don't agree with vandalism of any kind. I meant that these folks should take it off the street and out of buildings, and go to art school! Sorry, I should have elaborated.

the "graffiti" that is on this dish makes it beautiful.. granted, it'd be pretty amazing just standing alone... but yeah. I just recently found out about the satellite, and my friends and I visit it regularly.. hopefully it wont be demolished soon, because it is a truely amazing structure.

who cares if there is graffiti on ana abandoned p[lace like that? it's the middle of nowhere. it livens it up. who is it hurting? it makes the satellite THE satellite. i've been up it, & my boyfriend did a lot of that. & i'm proud =]

It's amazing to see people appreciate this place that are not from here. Too bad you didn't stick around till night. On a clear night, cinch your self to the edge of the dish on your stomach and look over the side... Amazing views of D.C. and Alexandria and the surrounding countryside....

I like the graffiti. It reminds you that the dish isn't some alien desolate thing. Gives you a sense of time and lets you know people interacted with it.
