Feels like we were there just yesterday
Is that a grand drape hiding more stage behind the apron; Or is that just a solid wall behind the front of the stage?

nice photos by the way.
There's the big curtain you see in the pic, and a whole lotta stage behind it as well. It's a professional stage layout for full productions with colored spotlights and everything else.
Spotlights still intact? And what else?
I will bring a generator and see what happens when the place gets some juice.
is that a ladder in the ceiling?
Yeah, that's a ladder. There are extremely dangerous wooden plank catwalks and ladders all above the seating area. All of the counterweights. pulleys, and cables for the curtains are up there.
Imagine cleaning that place up a bit and having a punk show or something?
It's so fucked up, that kind of noise would bring the place down. No electricity either...
Because there's 1000000 million pointless comments, here's Lyrics chat site again. I'm there. let's keep this place historical.

did satanists rreally worship ther or are all the pentagrams done by dumbasses
Dumbasses I'm sure.
Right on the money with the "dumbass" statement.
That would be a hell of a place to play, you could jam out on battereyed powered amp's at the least!

I would love to put a 50 piece TAMA drum set on that stage, with the double bass drum's and all that jazz!! and just play a show for the ratz until the wolrd DIED!!

If I could back in time.. I would have 85' era SLAYER come in there with power(some how they could do it) and play a show that could have ended the world!
is that a ladder on the roof or something
do u see it?
After frequenting this site, it's hard to look at everyday places without imagining how they will look once they've become abandoned.

Awesome work here.
this is in oldbyberry and oldbyberry is filthy dirty so wear cloths that are old and put on some old ass kicks to.
man thats a lot of space to have a mosh pit or two.
I really believe this place is falling apart fast. I don't think it would take too much with the wrecking ball to bring it down.
I live 2 minutes away from byberry. If you guys could see it. They are knocking some of the buildings down to make it into an industrial park. there is a roomer going around that they are building retirement apartments on the grounds but i'm not sure exactly.
wow it's hard to believe i live like right down the street from all this.
does anyone remember about 1991 or 92 the one radion station had turned part of it into a haunted house for halloween? That was awesome. I of course was more interested in all the locked doors and what was behind them.lol
This would actually be a neat place for a music video
omgosh.
what i would give to mosh there.

awesome shot Motts.
(:
it looks like a place I could see Helmet or the Melvins playing in.
dr house live on stage
I have been surfing around byberry sites for hours now and these pics are awesome. I grew up close enought to Byberry that they used to tell us not to go in the woods near Nottingham because some of the released patients lived back there.
My Grandmom also told me a story about how she worked in old Byberry as a nurse, I'd say probably in the 20s and one night there was a patient revolt and she had to lock herself in a supply closet.
Also was in, at least I think it was this one, auditorium and we found old bits of costumes. Bowties and other odds and ends. My cousin also found a book that contained patient names,, diagnoses, meds, ages, Dr. names.
Can't believe this place is gone. It was there my whole life....
i dare not ask what's back behind the curtain...looks like darkness...
Looks more like a mush-pit :)
I would love to bring my Mesa triple rec in there with my band and play Madhouse by Anthrax! It'd be so awesome! 8-)
Behind the stage tbere were chaplains' offices and dressing rooms.
