y did they hav auditorium in that place
brett aka tyreek they had auditorium for shows and other types of Entertainment. Just because people are in state hospital it dose not mean they can't enjoy a Concert around christmas, movies ECT. through out the year .
Heheh bdhsnake I shouldn't say 'ECT' around here too loud if I were you - people have imaginations y'know...

Oh wait, you meant 'et cetera' - something completely different - lol!
Well, *MY* bad - I thought bdhsnake MEANT "ECT"! 8`-)
I think if you performed ECT live on stage at Christmas, in Byberry, it would be to a full house of the 'OMG thats soooo KEWL' type of people who frequent opacity.us....

Maybe some audience participation would go down well.... zzzzzzap!
The number of humorous but incredibly tacky things I want to say in response to this have me sitting here, paralyzed . . . . . . 8`-)
I ment 'et cetera' " not electroconvulsive therapy that the last time I use that abbreviation on this site at least .
Well, durn, you sure got a reaction out of me when I first read it! 8`-)
Last time I was in Byberry. I sat there and thought to myself what people went though
Quite a few of the Catholic grade schools performed at Byberry at Christmas time. I know that my school did it, as I went and performed.

I can't tell you what stage we did it on though, since there is apparently more then one stage in Byberry.

Was a distrubing experiance.
Did you got to St. Christopher's?
I went there for CCD classes when I was in elementary school, being a student of Comly, a Philly public school in the same neighborhood. You more-than-likely performed in the much-larger Furey Ellis auditorium. This auditorium (pictured) was used primarily for the staff as an instructional-film viewing room. Motts has some photos of the patient assembly, which was larger than my high school auditorium. (George Washington H.S., another Philly public school).
I went to St. Dominics and St Francis De Sales (in West Philly when we moved later). Oddly St Francis De Sales sang there and St Doms didn't.
I hurt myself today
to see if I still feel
I focus on the pain
the only thing that's real
the needle tears a hole
the old familiar sting
try to kill it all away
but I remember everything

what have I become?
my sweetest friend
everyone I know
goes away in the end
you could have it all
my empire of dirt
I will let you down
I will make you hurt

I wear this crown of shit
upon my liar's chair
full of broken thoughts
I cannot repair
beneath the stains of time
the feeling disappear
you are someone else
I am still right here

what have I become?
my sweetest friend
everyone I know
goes away in the end

you could have it all
my empire of dirt
I will let you down
I will make you hurt
if I could start again
a million miles away
I would keep myself
I would find a way
A pitch black backround
a lonely camera man
Here to save the past

(#54 of the day, TO MOTTS!!)

motts,

first time here, and i am thoroughly enjoying the artistic quality of your photos. a question, though...
on your explorations, do you travel alone?

have you experianced anything supernatural in byberry or elsewhere?

thecurvingbackbone@gmail.com
Sometimes I travel alone, usually I'm with a trusted friend or two. I've never had any supernatural experiences.
what building is this auditorium located in?
Actually "et cetera" is abbreviated as "etc." not "ECT"
Just thought I'd let you know.
:D
MAN THIS JUST PUTS THE C IN CREEPY!!!
I Was there yesterday, it was indescrible to be there
Great song ~me I can see it being performed in this room. I think if I were to see that everything else would pale in comparison.
I went to St. Christophers
this scares the crap out of me. besalkfj drugh sjdbhefju hjsrhe !!!!!!
I have seen the Furey Ellis hall semi demolised.
they bulldozed the seats before they demolished the building right?
Furey Ellis Hall was the large auditorium, it was a stand along buliding, used for Christmas shows, etc. A smaller auditorium was in W-3 in the section used for offices by the Education Dept., it was used for confereences. In the basement of W-3 was a medical auditorium used for autopsies.
this is theauditorium that scared the hell opout of me. my friends leftme in there with no light and i had to find my way out lol it sucked ass
Too bad the auditorium didn't stand on its own. Would be interested to renovate and make use of
I want to go. Can I get somebody to go with me? I can go alone but I'm not trying to get killed and the only protection I have is a walmart box cutter.
