Up close, the wrought iron railings, the iron fencing, and the massive pillars holding up the overhang harken one back to the days of architectural splendor seldom seen in modern institutions of every variety. How's THAT for a run-on sentence! Hah!
the architecture of this place is what always fascinated me my whole life. i could never take my eyes off of it driving by
I think what Radical Ed was trying to say was " they don't build and make them look like this any more" !!!
Does this building face Carter Road off of Byberry Road?
It's back faces either the building to the rear of it, or the first block of Carter. All of the mansions face the boulevard.
Just imagine if you fix it up and make it to a home it has its own movie theatre, lunchroom, and secret passage ways to places in the hospital you never knew before wat a great experience that would be haha.
Woow...I thought I was crazy you want to live there
its gone now....
and may it rest in peace....
fuck the corporate world destroying my sanctuary
I agree Mourner, like I said before I really wish they had made it into a museum. It really sucks they had to knock down such a beautiful old building.
I moved to Nottingham in the mid 70's (Bensalem) which borders the state grounds
we ventured through the old byberry and it was quite the thrill! I cherish the memories.
I'm glad to see the memories still live, thank you to the picture takers.
Why try to resurrect something that has been destroyed by vandals, looters and thugs? If you wanted to save it so badly, contribute to a campaign to restore and save it - not trash the place.
Septic issues ewwwwww big time
