More like "dropped" ceiling!
"why that floors clean enough to eat off of!"
All of the drop ceilings in the complex have literally dropped and turned to mush.
that is so horrible i feel really bad for those mental patients
Not all of the drop ceilings have fallen YET, a few of them, especially in W-5, are still intact.
Refrigeration? Really? I'll have to check that out. I'd love some pics of that.
Em, need a place to store them beers? ;-)
Actually, there are intact portions scattered throughout byberry. even in old byberry, you can come across an intact portion here and there.
This hallway looks creepy just imagine if it were dark and you could not see anything. I would hate to even think about the stuff you would be walking on while going through this hallway
This hallway leads to one of the courtyards where many of Byberry's famous BBQ's are held. There are grills scattered throughout. I've bonked my head of this piece of ceiling numerous times walking through here. It showers wonderfully itchy rust all over when disturbed. I'm usually watching the ground where I walk and have had many head-bonking experiences in these hallowed halls.
i hav a question do the people who go in there to mess around mess up the place or was this place like this and people just take pics of it?
Just some random thoughts here.
Is this some of the aforementioned asbestos?
Do you ever wear masks when you go into some of these places?
"SASSY" sure doesn't have anything better to do.
It is hard to imagine the institution in it's better days!
If you look directly at the top center of the photo you can see a profile of a woman who is wearing her hair in a bun. This is Ethel the Broom Lady as she was known. She would wander the halls with a straw broom talking to it like it was her child.
Yep, I see Ethel! Except it's Ethel Mertz!
Not to inviting.

Signed: An American Soldier stationed in Germany.
I see Ethel too! Is it carved onto the ceiling or something? It just kinda 'leaps' out at you after a few seconds...that's disturbing!
I'd love to have sex in this building.
Since the building has been demolished, I am guessing you are a public exhibitionist.
LOL! Good one Lynne ;)
man this place is comin down fast.
