Waist Shaper

Waist Shaper

I believe it's one of those machines that shook a big band around your waist really fast. I'm not sure what they were called, or if they actually worked.

my mom had one of those way back in the late 60's early 70's, it was suppose to make you lose weight. my brother and I were the only ones who used it (we thought it was a great toy)
My aunt had one. It was called a "reducing machine". Think it only reduced her hard earned cash.
Probably not the best device for schizophrenics, wouldn't you say?
"look mommy, no hands!"
i never had one and don't want one.
somethings shooting outa tho top of it
The theory behind reducing machines was that the friction from the belt would help to melt the fat. Of course, even if it did melt fat (it didn't), it was a flawed idea, because once melted the fat had to go somewhere, but it was sealed up in the body. People will try anything to lose weight... At least, anything that isn't eating right & exercising...
I PAST BY THAT THING ! but me and my friends thought that it was a scale
Sorry "MEE". What looks like somthing comming out of the top of the reducer is actually some white spraypaint on the wall behind it, lining out someones "tag".
Ahh, thinned my waste more than i wanted!

*compares to pencil*
everyone see that and thinks it a scale
it really does look like a scale :-)
thanx for the visual on that one Max
that looks very gay wise for people that feel upset all the time i forget what the word is!!
ahahaha.
now i want one.
(:
I remember these at the Y when I went there almost 40 years ago, I'd forgotten about those things.
No, they didn't work at all. One of the many gadgets of the atomic age that became indicative of striving for technology without accomplishing much in and of themselves. Vintage objets d'art.
