There's an old frame! It's probably solid steel and weighs a ton!
...perhaps it looks like someone got too tired to find a bed...if there ever was a bed placed in there.
that bed is grose
Hahaha very scarey im not afraid of that
fuck thats scary
Looks like a bed of nails
I imagine that this bed was relatively comfortable when it had a mattress on it and was not in such disrepair.
There is something evil about that bed... Just a gut feeling...
it's just a bed
yeah, but it's the fact that it looks like a torturing device
not so much twisted. i think it looks quite awesome.
I would rather sleep on the floor then ever lay on that bed.
i'm sure thats worth something...if you take it to a scrap yard
Yeah. It's just a bed. I think it may be how the pillow is placed that would be giving someone a bad feeling about this bed. I dunno. It's just the first thing I noticed and I did not like it there at all.
i've seen quite a few beds in the complex, and all of them have that welcoming "come take a load off while ii drive this nail into your spine" kind of feeling to them... don't you think motts?
I think adjustment capability, rolling wheels, and guardrails make for a pretty decent bed actually!
What's that weird winch thing sticking out at the end of the bed towards us? it freaks me a bit.
It's a crank that moves the bedframe into an upright position.
That crank on the end of the bedframe, although I know it was used for an innocent fuction, gives me the heebie-jeebies. It makes me think of ancient dental tools that resemble torture devices more than they do therapeutic instruments.
first of all, motts, all of your photos are amazing.

it strikes me how the pillow is in such better shape than the bed.
Wow!!!!! that pillow looks so new
did no 1 else notice that the actual mattress is laying right next to the bedframe leaning up against it?? but it is an awsome picture
wow think people were actually tied to that thing
Oh my. The conditions of this house. It's just so sad that they treated these people like this. They deserved better. Many were just stuck in their beds unable to walk. If the children bit someone more then three times they had all of their teeth pulled. It's truly sad and makes me want to cry. It's frightening what they did here. I am glad we are much more civilized today to know better...
Well, the place had been closed for 18 years, exposed to extreme cold, heat, moisture, etc., so it didn't look this bad when it was in use. :-)
Or did the guy bang his head here? IDK...HEY IT WAS LIKE @ WEEKS AGO WHEN IT WAS SHOWN ON NBC10 NEWS!!!!! Yeesh...
Oops I meant 2 weeks ago
Very sad to know what went on in these beds. Children were often strapped to their beds for acting out.
over the last 24 hours ive done a little research on pennhurst/willowbrook...they both seem like hell holes ESPECIALLY WILLOWBROOK..i couldnt imagine being strapped to a bed all day or sitting in fecies and sitting naked in a dark dayroom may GOD BLESS the people that sufferd at these places and the people that truly cared and helped and may you have mercy on the people's soul that took advantage of disabled and etc A REAL NIGHTMARE
