Senseless Arson - probably an extension of the same twisted mentality that gives vandals a thrill when spray painting moronic graffitti or smashing windows, furniture, etc. Isn't it a shame that so many of our historic places have been or are being destroyed by these demented asses.
I wonder when fire was?
While open and room never repaired after?
After the facility closed, and it went out by itself?
Or was someone cold, and put it out after they warmed up ? ? ? ?
I like how one side is burned and melted while the other side is perfectly fine!
There was a fire just a few years back it is in The Mercury Newspaper if you want to read about it.
they are lucky the room did flash over. its sad tho because being a firefighter my self i know it just takes time before one is sit and does. i know they wouldn't send us in do to by the time something was notice the building would have badly damaged.
Wow! I stand by my asbestos remark.
this is interesting... maybe the other side of the shelves were damp due to some other jack ass breaking a window and letting the rain in. this is a historical building where many aphalling (i hope that's spelled correctly) and cruel things happened. i hope that in the future, people have more respect for such a landmark as this.
attempted
why? just don't get it.
Well said Motts........
Sorry my mistake. I thought Motts had posted the comment....Anyhoo...Well said G. Dammann........
Where does the ladder go? Roof Pix?
Roof certainly seems possible, Grumpy. Depends on what kind of room this was in, probably not the roof if patients had access to it. If it was a staff-only room, though, then the roof is probably the most likely answer.

Question: What is the first letter of the word "abandoned?"
