Secure Window

Secure Window

Possibly where a staff member would keep an eye on the room.

looks more like a medication window. Many psych hospitals and developmental centers (new millenium buzz word for this type of facility) still have them. Part of the "therapeutic" environment is for patients to present themselves to a window at certain times for their medication.
I thought so too...that shelf in front of the window. Also the grate looks like it may slide up & down and was prolly for security to keep the unauthorized out of the pills...
I read that once a patient overdosed on pills because they left the medication not locked up. He didnt do it on purpose, simply because they looked like candy more than likely
the window is on the second floor of Union bldg. next to the book pile. Definitly used to dispense pills, its part of a secure room. Union was a girls schoolhouse and clothing dispensary.
I know its not... But it reminds me of a Confessional.
looks like one of those doors they give where they prisoners their food
"I know its not... But it reminds me of a Confessional."

Being a Catholic, that's the first thing I thought of. (LOL)
was there a way to get around the window to see what it really could be?
I think they secured it after the guy banged his head against it...
I have to agree, to me its looks like a vent from I don't know air conditioner or something. But that medication stuff I to agree.
I serviced the computer in the pharmacy in the early to mid 80's and don't remember seeing this. Med's were usually delivered to patients room from what I can remember!
it looks like a medication counter or air ventalation system for the patients
