Drawn Shade

Drawn Shade

The contraptions back there are like walkers with wheels and a toilet seat in the center.

just a shot of the shade alone would be great too...
they are commodes, i still cant figure out where you would need to wheel off to while your using one though
Ah, that's what they're called. I suppose they doubled as wheelchairs.
These are also used in homes & nursing homes ( etc ) though they have been updated very slightly over the years . Respectfully... I've yet to hear of one doubling as a wheelchair.

They're not for wheeling a patient off in... they're for wheeling TO a patient who has a hard time getting around.
LEE, I was trying to be funny, in the hospital, we use them to wheel patients to the shower.
they're called "shower chairs" and are still very much in use everywhere
I bet as you walk through that maze of peeling paint, plaster, broken glass and who-knows-what, it crackles beneath your feet.
Ahh the last act of privacy.
I have never hear of a bedside commode doubling as a wheel chair, I worked in a nursing home, and for safety, non of them had wheels.
Is that an old building out the window? Or just rotting curtains? Or what? I can't really tell for sure. I notice that as I go through all these galleries (and happily I have a long way to go yet) my favorite theme is what is outside the windows of interior shots (the view, basically). Some of those details, enlarged, would be beautiful photographs in their own right.
Just want to thank you, Motts, for "capturing" all these images on film; for someday they will no longer be there to see.
haha my gandmother uses one of those
i've been there
Is pennhurst posted? Can anyone go visite it? I want to go so bad and get some shots!
