Sorry man, I know I'm getting carried away with these comments - but this shot is pretty f***ing tremendous also. Yeah. Autumnal colours, cobalt sky, whispy clouds, menacing perspective of buildings facade. Come on.
Post away Groobs! Thanks, that's what I was going for.
Great shot! Colors are perfect!
Forgive me for putting it this way, but the shot is so amazingly staged it could be used for a "Children of the corn" sequal

Beautiful and haunting, brillant and cold
this picture has a creepy feeling to it, as if some one or something is waiting for just the right time to jump out and scare the hell out of some one (me)
great shot!!!!!!!!
each time i click on an image from your site i say this is the best one. and i am at it again. total visceral reaction. a shudder moving through my body. as if your eye was stalking/waiting for the colors to line up to their perfection around this monolith. awesome.
Motts, I see there is a dirt road in this one. When entering any of these buildings and Pennhurst I'm guessing you don't just pull your vehicle up park it and walk in the front door . How do ya do it? I assume you've gotta be kinda sneaky to get in there right?? Do tell please...Sorry of this is a stupid question, just wondering .
It's a paved road, it is just really old and unmaintained.

It takes a little discretion to get there, especially now that they've hired a security company that patrols the grounds. That's all there is to say about that ;)
Thank you Motts. I'ts close but no i'm not gonna. :-)
Does Security ever go inside?
yes they do silkster. and that particular buiding is one of the most dangerous ones to be in. it was the one that was nicknamed the "Punishment Ward", because that is where they punished-a.k.a. tortured- patients. it is dangerous, because of all the harmful things in there. plus, it is out in the open, and it is easy to get caught in there.
Sam, what sort of harmful things are in there? Do you mean junk lying around?
I think Sam might mean asbestos but I could be wrong.
There is asbestos, broken glass, live wires, and other stuff like twisted, sharp metal fragments, ect.
A simple scene but perfect shot, leads the viewers eye up to the building in all its rustic look, framed by the tree branches captured.. on top of it all, the bright sky with clouds contrats greatly with the scene on the ground.
Oh, I just love this picture!! It is so crisp -if you look at it real fast and then look away, I swear you can see the clouds moving!! Amazing photography!!
In reality it is probably not really a cloud ,but vapor from the nuclear reactor less than a mile away.
i dont think that building is dead. it was never alive to begin with.
which building is that...i've never actually seen pennhurst durning the day
The building and its surroundings really do look dead. The sky looks so vibrant and blue, and the building and the growth surrounding it looks so tired and wasted.
MOTS DID U FEEL ANY PARANORMAL ACTIVITY WHEN U SHOT THERE?
Motts says:

"I do not believe in ghosts."

WELL IF HE DOES NOT THINK THIS PLACE IS HAUNTED..LOL. YEA RIGHT. I LIKE TO SEE HIM GO AFTER DARK AND THEN COME BACK AND TELL ME THAT
i have spent the night in pennhurst
numerous times
and from what i see it is NOT haunted.
how do you get to this building???
That information isn't given out over Mott's website. See the information below.
pennhurst is gorgeous
and NOT haunted
I love your pictures! I'm glad that some people have the nerve to trespass and take a chance on getting caught so the rest of us can get to look at the pictures. I'd never go there!
i wonder how many demons and ghost with spirits are in there......*starts thinking it*
this building si so beautiful and so sad. i want it! is it for sale? i'd love to fix it up and make it beautiful again.
that really is lovely. Look how the building just blends in with the undergrowth, both reddish-brown and the cream-colored trim... lovely
why do they call it dead
I think the 'Ghost Adventures' team believe's its haunted though.....it was an interesting watch ....mostly I wanted to watch it for the place the beginning of it was the best part of it not the ghost hunting. Though I do like to see or hear there evidence.....for what its worth.....anyway.....
Hey dude I was just up there today met the new owner.. how the hell did you manage to get the permission to get inside or did you? let me know.. my e-mail is forbidenstarr@aol.com.. wanna get a better look if you know what I'm sayin..thanks
PERFECT HAUNTED HOUSE! its the stereotypical haunted house people all picture! Haunted Mansion at Disney World comes to mind when looking at these pics, they are very much alike!
