Is this near 3 mile island?
Nope, that's the Limerick Generating Station in Limerick, PA.
They look like the same cooling towers used here (UK, rather than specifically Western Isles!), but not with our much mistrusted nuclear power industry.
Mott's you didn't go up the water tower?
Nope, not much up there except for a view slightly higher than this one.
How did you get in the buildings? last time i was there everything was locked...once you're in the buildings is it easy to get to the roof?
email me at pbracelin@yahoo.com if anyone wants to go sometime soon, i live right down the road an i haven't been in a while so i want to revisit
THIS is the roof that started caving in while we were on it the other day - not very fun.
Linfield is one of my favorite sites
seems like kind of a fun place to run around
KBWS, absolutely... and the buildings are patrolled and re-locked once a month. Its all documented on the doors... they seem to visit the sites in the middle of each month and secure the doors. The first time I visited Linfield, most buildings were open... the second time, the main building where I really wanted to revisit was locked. Take a crow bar and you're good to go!
i don't know about that. i never b&e because that's when you start pushing the getting arrested boundary. i'm just an innocent kid with a camera :)
We have a coal plant that has cooling towers just like that. I always though it was nuclear but no.
When will these darn smokestacks learn that smoking isn't good for them?
these are great shots, i was just through there with a few of my friends, if u follow the main road back there's a really cool house that was built in 1751, the distillery used it for awhile, there's an old barn there too. if you get a chance to go back there check it out!!
Motts, Just found your site while researching Pennhurst (which I grew up "investigating" since it was in my backyard). This is also right down the street from my childhood home, obviously. I noticed that you don't have the farm house that is included on this campus. It's quite amazing, there are a few homes and a large barn full of equipment. We stumbled across it one day and it became my local hang out as a teen. There are some great photo ops there. If you ever find yourself in the area again, feel free to email me for directions copyright1982@gmail.com.
I love the shots ...Im playing Airsoft here at the end of the month
I can't believe you went to the roof! We could only get into 2 buildings and one was a break room for employees and the other was one of the warehouses. The door was cracked. We went to every building and could only find the one open. It was incredible- most definitely one of my favorite places to visit. I have more pictures on my website nickexplores.com
