Office

Office

The office had a view of the main plant corridor... there were many things still left in here, and old computer, photos of battleships, blueprints, punchcards, books and office supplies.

I would like to know how battleships go along with this place.
I guess the foreman like them, or maybe he was in the Navy.
Strange monitor there on the desk.
Cute how the moniter has a post-it note stuck to it...."remember to collect moniter after 20 years"
thats not a monitor, its a microfische reader..
I love the toaster..Almost looks looks like they left in a hurry
ive been there before its pretty cool
yea james it is pretty cool
Tom: Most boiler operators were trained in the services, mainly the Navy and Coast Guard.
I'll take a gander that the chief engineer was an old salty and was probably stationed aboard the ship in the photo
I'm always amazed at the stuff left behind too.

Why was it left behind? Maybe the 'old salty' was unaware that he was living the 'last days in the bunker'. He signed out Friday night, only to return to a locked-up building on Monday morning.
WHY would you have a toaster in your office???
All right, you young punks out there who don't know what it was like before microwaves were invented and we had to rely on barbaric devices such as this for our snacks - you make us old folks feel super-old! >:-P
I have a mini-fridge, microwave, and yes even a toaster. The microwave can't really toast toast as well as a toaster can (hope that makes sense to you). Mainly, why not have a toaster in your office? They make great conversation pieces...

So Dr Sketch, I see you have a new toaster....
It could also be they used toasters before paper shredders were invented. Instead of shredding the evidence, they burned it. (LOL)
Aaahhhh, toasters... I miss them.....Wish I had one at MY desk...
U need a toaster for your Pop-Tarts!!!
At least we all agree that it ~is~ a toaster, and not some kind of light fixture or soap dispencer.
WHY would you need a toaster in your office?

so you could eat toast.........HELLO
Soap dispenser? LMAO!
You just GOTTA love anna, don't you? 8`-)
wow reading all your comments has givein me a laugh...thanks.....lol
Live in the same town been by it several times but I needed to get fingerprints taken at the DDSO for a job and I realized it's alot bigger than it seems...
Not all this stuff is there anymore. kids took alot and messed it up. But yeah i remember this room, its right next to those big machines that say general electric on them
Photos of Battleships? What Battleships; do you remember?
I love how much conversation there was about the toaster. Thanks for that.
pics look like an Iowa class bb and a ticonderoga class cruiser.
the pic on the left is DEFINATELY a Ticonderoga, not an old pic either, you can see the VLS system on the foredeck..those were added in the early 90's..the pic on the right though, may be an Iowa..it could also be a photo of an older cruiser like a Worcester class...
Yeah, the Ticonderoga has such a tell tale shape. That's on phalanx on the front, right?

Looking at this pic I keep thinking Im looking into a mirror, it's kinda odd, I figure its the particular framing on the window. Weird.
The Picture is of the Office of the Senior Stationary Engieer If any of you people happen to live in or near Stony Point and most of you are, then you must be familiar with Reservoir Road. As you drive down that every once in a while you will see an elderly man walking his Black Lab Dog he is most likely wearing sunglasses. His name is Lowell He was the man in that office. He can give you all the history about that power house. And if lot of you road the bus to school with the Haverstraw Transit then alot of you may know a guy by the name of Mr. Ryker He lived on Gurnee Ave he always had the bus there. Well he was also a person with worked in that power house.
My great uncle Royal Navy boiler engineer before using the skills to become a plumber. Unfortunately the exposure to asbestos & being a heaver smoker (he managed to complete a 1934 Players Stars Of Film card collection) caught up with him in the end.

What's that black box behind the microfiche machine? look like an 8 track tape player to me
i had mr ryker as a bus driver while i attended haverstraw middle shcool. is he still alive?
there is a building behind the factory it is kinda small and it has all the files of patient information i actually have taken some of those papers before says like everything about them if they have frequent seizures and if they have teeth missing its kinda creepy knowing that there is still alot of these people there in spirit.
I LOVE TOASTERS LETS HAVE A TOAST PARTY AT MY HOUSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hmmm I thought it was one of them old time micro fiche things.....
i wonder what it says on the wall to the left about 3/4 of the way up?
Hey cool, the first two names on this page create my name, Tom Motts.
Wierd
how the heck do papers and stuff get all slung around?!!?! did someone before you go on there and destroy it?!?!
i dont understand how they could just drop everything and leave... like there are still pens and paper and things that you would take with you if you knew you had to leave. it just baffles me but intrigues me all at the same time
me and sum friends came to this place a few times. The second time we went we had just walked down the stairs from this office and started hearing sum really loud bangs on the cielings and walls. After scoping out the area around it and finding no one was there we ran back to our cars and left. There is deffenantly an eerie presence to this place especially being my grandmother had worked here and told me about how they used to beat and rape patients.
I found a Video link if any would care to see it.http://www.youtube.com...&feature=related
@Vampyr-Great video! Love the arched windows; nice touch with the abandoned teddy bear at the end-Thanks for sharing! : )
