you dont have to apply them 1 by 1, they come on sheets. still its pretty spiffy lookin for an institutional shower

It looks as if that are was updated and all they did was tac up ferring strips and put up sum mesh plaster and bam u got ur self a ulgy wall coverup that looks "spiffy"

Going by the pipes running behind it along with the old tiles I wonder if they were trying to cover up a retrofit in the plumbing?

Probably had to re-tile once they added additional plumbing, hence the tiles behind the wall. You definitely get a sense of the time period that a structure was abandoned from a photo like this one.
