Who steals door hinges from a hospital?
They may have been taken for building new doors and whatnot. Doorhinges can be pretty expensive, like a dollar or so. Or just someone who loves door hinges enough to steal them from a hospital. The owner may have took them with him.
All very thoughtful ideas, but yeah, I'd be the one to flitch them just so I could say, "Hey! I stole a door hinge."
But, who would steal ALL the doorhinges. "hey i stole a doorhinge but, i wanted more and just couldnt stop it's an addiction"
The place is in a pretty poor urban area, where many people have gone through the place and took whatever they could. They went through some extraordinary measures to get to various metal pipes and fittings; even the stainless steel morgue and slabs were ripped out.
Geez that's harsh
Hey! I have to hold my doors up somehow!
Ducttape would work for a while! it does fix everything. you just would have a hard time getting in and out.
Damn!!! Why didn't they just leave the place empty instead!!!
Guess some people feel, why not take them; they're going to sit here and deteriorate anyway; even though it IS stealing.
I would like to think it was someone who was hard up for cash to feed their large starving family. But no, it was probably hoodlums looking for some quick cash instead of getting a regular job.

(Who thinks of stealing ALL the hinges?)
If all the door hinges were taken I would imagine it was for salvage and resale, things like these are a hot ticket item in the shaby chic world
The reason they took "ALL" the hinges is because they were brass hinges. Brass, like copper has a decent resale value. I was looking at another site where they smashed walls to get at the copper and noticed they smashed through marble sheets to get the copper. they probably got $5 worth of copper but the sheet of marble would have brought them $500
If I were to have seen this picture, alone, and not on this site, I would have sworn it was from a prison. It reminds me of the old prison numbers, just the way the yellow is such contrast to the blue. Maybe I'm alone on this one.
Door hinges can get expensive. We need a set to fix the kids door. You know a half-and-half.
Hmmm, interestingly LARGE number for a door....
Geez some people's children. Steal anything.
