this building is very historical and many people have died in that from being tourtoured in the olden days because of false believes and of false things like vapmpires and monsters and even thinking that the peoples bodies were inhabitited by acinet spirtis of that building and going mad by killing every one in there paths if you listen close on the top floor you can still hear the doctors screaming in fear when there time of death has come Some say you can even see some people standing by the windows to catch there next victims
sounds like a LOAD of BULL to me.
Nah, I've been in there and scary shit goes on. There are old case files, medicine, beds, clothes. It looks like they just up and left and didn't take anything.
There's no way it's BS......we were there a couple nights ago.....this stuff is for real.....we felt some bad, bad vibes walking into the joint. that building is not safe man.....when a 1/3rd of the building gets illmunated then mysteriously goes dark, you know something is going on......and it wasnt street lamps....we were at the main doors looking straight up and every lamp was off....not cool
i have bin going to kp every day for years and there is nothing scarry about that place at all it is just beautiful. yah many ppl have died there but there is no one " looking for new victims"!
i was there last weekend and i got chased out by some suffolk cops, i'm goin back tonight or tomorrow night and i'm gonna fight some ghosts, i'll post how it was
Building 93 was a geriatric ward. So yeah, lots of people died there... of OLD AGE!

The patients were old folks with senile dementia. If you look at the building you'll notice the day wards that jut out from each side of the building. These were areas where the patients would be brought, or wheeled, to spend the day playing games or looking at the beautiful view. A lot better than freezing on the streets (as they do now if they're homeless).

This place was not a horrible place. Sure there are always the ocasional bad apple. And when discovered they were arrested. But the most horrible thing that happens to these patients is the mental illness itself.
again i must re comment on the fact that, NAACP closed it down because of one women being held there against her will because she said she liked being homeless .. soo the NAACP decided they should all have a choice, even though they shouldn't be trusted making decisions due to the fact that they are mentally ill. but regardless the NAACP closed them down saying they were unconsitutional to hold people or lock people up. nobody was tortured there ever.... if you were cold when you visited it, you probably should have worn a jacket.
You guys are pretty inaccurate, with the exception of two of you. People don't get tortured in psychiatric hospitals, ghosts don't exist, and the greatest danger of being on the premises is that it's corroded, rotten and way out of repair.

Yeah, 93 was geriatric ward, and old people died there. Cause 99% of the deaths: old age. If you feel weird there, it's psychological and the poor ventilation.

There's a morgue, there were murders, like every psychiatric hospital. No one was beaten down in the basement.

Kids, you really shouldn't go there. I did my share of it, got arrested, broke bones, smoked weed there. The air is very hazardous to your health, entire floors can (and have) collapsed, and there are patients still in the immediate area, some of whom have histories of violence and can be dangerous. Also, some homeless people live there, so don't bother them.

I know it's scary and ominous and inviting to kids in a static, rich, lily-white town who want to break out and live on the edge, but DON'T GO! If you look for trouble, you might find it... kids in this town tend to lack judgment, but mommy and daddy won't save you if you fall through a rotten roof.

And you know this how? I gather that you are an expert ,if people want to explore then let them do not ruin their fun, some people just grow up and never believe that thing's can appear when either high or straight makes no matter.

yo diz my home boi yo lol g's up
people like that (the ones that can't spell and think they have something to prove) are why i hate thee internet. having said that, motts, i love your pictures. they're absolutely gorgeous.
Haunted or not, this is a really cool place. Why can't they have stuff like this around my way?
sorry what language is being spoken here? "yo diz my home boi" talk like that and you may find yourself in one of these hospitals as a patient and not a visitor.
It's some stupid variant on Ebonics, which is grounds for committal! Stallion, his "boyz" ,Taps and the rest of them are sentenced to live in this rotting falling down old place for eternity and exist on eating rats and ultimately each other!!!! Damn that would rule! "LOLZWTFBBQ" I'm sick of people mutilating the english language, you ass clowns!
sarah do u smell that?

smells like bull
Why would you want to announce that you are going to sneak into a building when it's against the law here of all places? You know how easy it would be for someone to report you?
me and my friends just got back from this place about an hour ago, we live about 20 -30 mins away from this place.

we were all soo high and we were just buggin out looking at this shit. were goin back next saturday with flashlights, weapons, and what ever else we need cuz were goin in all the buildings.

its goona be ill, we should all meet there yo, and chill on the top floot
And will you be high then too?

That would be natural selection at its finest.
lol of corse, my best friend who got sent away upsate is movig back saturday so were goin with him and 4 other kids.

itl be awsome, see if i were high the jurney inside will be amazing, ill eather be madd relaxed or madd scared, and i wana be scared. i havnt had a good scare in a wile and im do for one next saturday.

were leaving at 2 so we can chill there in the daylight and plan out our path, than will break inside and chill on the roof or something. i wana spend the night there too, but that might not happen
ok maybe the place is haunted or whatever but i was just in there a little a while ago and didnt see or hear shit. just .busted my ass on a weak ass roof leading to 7.
if u dont know your way around there dont go in if u knw your way around there then u can go in but make sure u wit somebody that noes there way around if not u may get stuck or something there is a building with a door that is open with a peice of wood if the peice of wood is removeed your stuck in =[ not fun like that
Wow... or... huh?
On the exterior, that is a beautiful building. It stands tall and proud, as if protecting something or someone.
I live in smithtown about 5 minutes from here,I've been in a few buildings but not 93 or any really major ones yet. The place has an overall eerie feeling I guess you could say but its really incredible. Every time I go I feel lucky to live so close to such an amazing place. If youre into photography you'll have a field day here, I'm a photo major and I've gotten some really crazy shots. To be honest, I have never experienced anything paranormal in or around the buildings. If youre looking for it, anyone can here things or think they saw something. I'm not saying anyones lying though, I don't believe in ghosts or any form of afterlife whatsoever but if there were such things, I could definitely see them lingering around a massive completely abandoned psych ward. Its worth seeing, even if you dong go in, the stature of building 93 is something to see itself. If you go in, do not be stupid and go when there's light. I have seen a friend almost fall through the floor and trust me, its not something to fuck with. I think anyone could understand why its so easy to be fascinated by a place like this. Its old, its creepy at times, overgrown, rundown, paint peeling, plants growing inside, no ceiling sometimes, whole rooms of furniture as if whoever was there just up and left it to rot. The amount of buildings there are still impresses me. Youre going to want to go back and explore until you've seen everything haha. Its worth it. That's my input.
wow! looks gorgous in the snow.
There isn't anything of this size where I live. What a lovely shot...
iam wondering is it true they torn it down yet if they did not a kool thing there is an history i this building about alot of people that had died in here and i went one time its an scry place i never made it in i wish i would have done it so what is the building still there i would love to go back
Wow, it amazes me at what brilliant people go to these places. It's not fair to people like Motts who go there to enjoy the historic scenery for what it's worth. It must be "mad ill yo" to have half a brain like them. Seems to me that ~they~ are the ones who should be in places like this.

Anyways, great photos Motts! Keep 'em coming!!
iam still wondering whats going on in smtihtown did they close it down or anything happened there like i herd that they started to take down the building is it true
hey you guys question does this building is still standing well if it is iam goign to go there to take some pictures and yeah theres alot of hunted places in long island
i was there the other night....sickkk
the buildings should be inspected by a proffesional to see if any of them are salvajible. then the ones worth fixing should be repaired.
well i hav something to stop u al dead in your tracks i went there just 3 weeks ago, i and a friend went there to take pics of the place. not ecpecting ne thing odd to happen. except the fact that it did . as im standing outside the building looking arounfd my friends oddly says that there is someone in the the building. i look up and in the highest window of the building u see people hanging out of the window. now thats all im gonna say for my own safety, yes there is more to the story but i hav to keep the rest to myself i only posted to say that there is def someone in thoses buildings dont forget that
every1 jus crazy its an old building that used to b a psych ward its not haunted no such thing its jus the fact that every1 goes in there believing its haunted so ur mind plays tricks on u....i really think ppl dont realize that everything they see is controlled by their minds and if they believe something is there or they hear something they gonna think it....i will tell u tho that the building is madd cool lol and its mad fun to b inside espically when ur with a bunch of friends that are scared shitless and ur not
I'm still wondering why the NAACP would have been so interested in this place....maybe if you said the ACLU I would believe it. :-)
The argument about it being illegal to "lock people up" or "keep people against their will" should be very interesting to everyone in jail. I guess we won't be needing jails anymore, if it's *really* illegal to lock people up!
DME - agreed. The NAACP wouldn't have anything to do with such a case but the ACLU just might.
I just moved here recently and walked down the hiking path today for the first time. I was complely unaware of the history of the property but got a really weird and uncomfortable feeling on the trail in certain areas of the park. So I went on line to look up the history of the property. Wow - now I know why it felt so creeepy. Maybe terrible things did not happen there, but you can feel saddness, anger and maybe even death in the air.
i went there last might just drove by the place has its own police on duty watching it you have to walk into the park and park your car down the block some where its in a state park right across the street from kings park high school but just sitting in the car you get a weird feeling vibe like bad things happen there and theres people watching you from the building and there waiting for you. funny thing happened we were driven in the park and a racoon walked out in front of the car and it stopped it look possesed and scary like it was a ghost it tried to scare us by charging the car. later that night i went to pilgrim state park just be careful there its very easy to get into building but cops hang out in the closed and abandoned parking lots and off in the woods as you get closer to the active part of pilgrim state but it's not as scary because the building was cleared out of all the medical stuff.
i know nothing about this place, execpt from what i just read in the comments here..is it safe to go in or will you fall through the floor? will you get busted by the cops or make it in and out without any worries? is it fucking awesome or something you'd never want to do again? do you need to have experience and knowledge of the place or can you just be some kid on an adventure? i'd really like to know since I and a couple friends of mine have been really wanting to go check it out
hi notts great pics :-D keep up the good work

also if people belive in something dont take that away from them.

Ive been here before and I can tell you it has an amazing energy around it, as if you can feel what the patients felt in there.
been there. nothing crazy, just abandoned buildings is all. please people.. if your going to comment.. write in english. i'm sure it takes a lot less effort than writing in ebonics.
HAVE LIVED HERE 46 YEARS...MANY FAMILY MEMBERS WORKED AT THE CENTER.. I HAVE BEEN IN THEIR WHILE IT WAS OPEN & CLOSED..REASON FOR THE PRESENT SECURITY IS THAT HOMELESS PEOPLE HAVE INHABITED THE BUILDINGS...THUS THE REPORTS OF SEEING POEPLE...NEXT THERE WERE POEPLE REPELLING FROM THE ROOF AND POSTING IT ON U-TUBE..VANDALISM ECT. IT IS NOT HAUNTED ITS JUST AN OLD BUILDING WHERE SOME HORRIBLE THINGS HAPPENED. IF YOUR INTO SCARING YOURSELF BELIEVE WHAT YOU WANT...JUST STAY AWAY......I WILL BE WATCHING YOU!
I went there last night like at 2 am with flashlights & 5 other people. We couldnt get into building 93 at all. We found a old firehouse and almost got in but then we heard someone scream so we ran lmaooo Then there is a building in the entrance on the left and i had my car parked in front. I have a black car so its barely seen especially in that darkness. So i heard the cops cuz of the gravel and once they passed we ran and i busted ma ass lmaooo We booked it!!!! We went home but we wana go back!! Shits crazy there!!!!
Ive been dieing to go with my cuzin and a couple of friends i live in east northport so we wanna drive out this weekend or next weekend can anyone give me some tips for safty and tell me a way to get into building 93
