I bet there was some cool old shit in there when they cleaned it out.
Yeah, up until last year there were library-type angled ladders that ran along the rails you can see at the top of the pic. I believe those rails are the only copper items left here since the scavengers gutted the place in the 90's.
Ed, E-Mail me, maybe we could meet there i am going soon. haha
Another "Byberrian" found slides with brain samples on them! Ooooh!
If I was in an abandoned asylum, I'd be most keeen on finding old patient records.
This is what the makers of "Session 9" were getting at. If you haven't seen that movie, don't bother, it's a turkey.
Heyy guys. recently found ther opacity site and being an occassional (well, a little more then occassional) visitor of dearest byberry, id figured id comment.

first off - this pictures are fanastic. very dramatic and theatrical at times. whoever took these knows their camera.

second off - ive taken home a few souveniers from byberry. my growing list of stuff includes a medicine bottle and a patient restriction form. theyre both pretty cool i think.

im gonna keep lookin through pictures. these are awesome and take me to byberry without my half hour drive. :) rock on guys. i <3 byberry
another of my favorites.
went there yesterday and saw the brain samples...Byberry is becomming addicting as shit..i keep wanting to go there..too bad they are going to knock it down
Lets all prey for red tape then.
was there the other day... zoning notices just went up...
PyRo is comming back ill be there ether next week or the march 3rd i dont no i have news on jester every one will find funny well ill comment back later.
how has every one been....
Hey Pyro, welcome back dude.
In the hospital near here they left so much stuff including reels of film to this day i still dont know whats on it. They left TONS of out of date anasthetic needlepoint vials.. all full and a whole draw of unused needles with sterile tags and unbroken seals.. its like they were begging for a lawsuit there.
Ed... I'm curious. How many hours ( a week, let's say) do you spent at Byberry? :P
Only about two or three visits a month these days. Of course they're 6-9 hour trips when I go.
Attention les maladies neucosomiales arrivent..
...and in English?
Sumpin' like "Pay attention, here is where nosocomial infections arise," which are diseases one picks up while in the hospital (as opposed to having them before you were admitted to the hospital).
hey radical a you say you have so many pics of this place so why don't you post them on this website
See that's what I'm talking about sick people. just dont have anything else to do. What about investing money in the place to restore it!!!!!!!!!
I hate to get roped into a debate that doesn't belong, but I felt the need to reply to this one comment.

Who's going to invest any money to restore these places if they don't see it and find a *reason* to? Mind you, this is coming from a future restorer who only really found her passion after viewing the photos on this website (and others).

If you find it so sick, then why don't YOU do something about it.
Moreover, I hate to say it, but this place is almost certainly well beyond repair, even if anyone did have any use for it. And even when there is money invested and even when the site in question isn't nearly as decrepit - take, for instance, the Richardson Complex in Buffalo, which has $1 million allocated towards restoration, yet which, so far, has nothing more than a stupid fence to show for it.
i hope u find some ghost when u go back there. i want to see some pictures
Again.....it's pretty lame to remove objects from the site.

Certainly not "cool" at all.
My opinion on that... SCREW ETHICS.
Many people think they are anarchists until someone takes a piece of THEIR pie. All of the sudden, ethics become paramount. Funny old world, ain't it? ;-)
I agree! Taking things is against the urban exploration code...take nothing but pictures; leave nothing but footprints. Don't mean to sound too cliche but I think things should be left as they were abandoned for nature to take them back.
I would have loved to have those old lab cabinets in my shop for storage or even my house. I think they are just gorgeous (restored of course).
