Examination Light

The huge light was in pieces in what seemed to have been an examination room.

It was common up until the 60's to sterilize patients, especially those who were "troublesome" in order to control them and keep them from having sex with other patients. It was also a remnant from the 20's and 30's when Germany was a leading exporter of Psychiatric theory and they saw it as a way of controlling the gene pool. And yes, I mean removing the testicles of men and the ovaries of women-not a vasectomy.

Some practices were downright barbaric.
Doggonnit! Reminds me of the dentist's office.
mmmmm, looks oddly clean...
too clean considering what the rest of everything else looks like........?
ok doesnt it make you wonder why the gov leave all this expensive equipment behind when they leave buildign doesnt it make you think what a waste
I don't think that this light was ever intended to be on a floor going to waste and ruin. What a shame.
Next Patient! Please strip and put this gown on the doctor is ready for your balls.
As unpalatable as it is now, the truth is that the eugenics movement began in the United States. To quote Edwin Black in his book "War Against the Weak:" "Using the power of money, prestige and international academic exchanges, American eugenicists exported their philosophy to nations throughout the world, including Germany. Decades after a eugenics campaign of mass sterilization and involuntary incarceration of 'defectives' was institutionalized in the United States, the American effort to create a super Nordic race came to the attention of Adolf Hitler. ...Only after the secrets of Nazi eugenics horrifed the world, only after Nuremburg declared compulsory sterilization a crime against humanity, did American eugenics recede, adopt an enlightened view and then resurface as 'genetics' and 'human engineering'."
Cool Light, I would sure love to have this light. I rumage through abandoned buildings all the time and I have taken home some very neat things, and have never been bothered with the police at all. i look at it this way better me having it then seeing it go in to a dumpster or being vandelized by some one with nothing to do. Could you possibly get this light and send it to me?? Just coiurious. I would love to hang it and wire it up on my ceiling in the basement would make a great conversation peice during football season when I have friends over.
People talking about how much money that yellow chair could be worth.. This, could be worth money.
