wow this power plant has a very bold and strong presence almost like a fort. l wish ours were built like this... instead they are tin/metal and wood!
Cant wait to see this one.
the building had even more presence b4 they knocked down the smoke stacks, the ones in the pics are only the base to the once very large stacks
It really does have a presence, but it reminds me of an aztecian and/or an egyptianize style.
possibly roman.
Cool looking sky.
Any chance of a shot being posted with the stacks?
ive been in that building, we heard some strange noises, probally just a squater but still freaked us out a bit
Anybody know WHEN the stacks were removed?

It looks like it could be the Gotham city power plant.
My parents accidentally ended up here after turning onto the wrong exit on their first date and my mom totally freaked out because it was getting dark. That was like 16 years ago I think.
My uncle tended the boilers at this plant...the stacks were huge...it also had a steam whistle they would blow at noon and six pm and tthe sound traveled at least ten miles he started working there in 1931,left in 1949...during its heyday. they worked twenty four hours a day,7 days a week some intreresting facts...the boiler tubes were big enough for a man to crawl in,the top of the boiler was over 30 feet high...he recalled the use of inmate trustees that would shovel remains from the autopsy room directly into the fire box....he also worked the steam heat in the wards...he recalled inmates would sit on the steam radiators till there flesh cooked like meat, the screams form the severe wards could be heard all over the grounds
My dad worked in the store house that is right near the powerhouse . I have videos of the parking lot between warehouse and shops that is now all overgrown. My brother still works there on one of the wards. Great shots any of the old Edgewood building .
i took a wrong turn and ended up here today with just my sister and my friend. it was like no - mans land we got really freaked out the building gives of the creepiest vibes!
when i worked in KP alot of the patients had burn marks on their backsides legs arms, all from the radiators, and although they did make covers for them, these covers had a crisscross pattern on them, the n "new burn " pattern was seen.
IT SURE HAS CHANGE SINCE I WAS THERE WORKING IN 1958
Looks like Eastern State's exterior
Heh , Pass By Here All The Time What I Find Strange Is How Theres A Light Bulb Sticking On Th eWall On A Shack And I Wonder How Is It Still Running.
I have been here it was about a year ago, the smoke stacks were still up at the time. It was awesome to explore. We went in through a window and it brought you into a large room predominatel empty. Then we headed to a courtyard into a smaller building . The ffloors were covered all with thick piles of printer paper, all with writing on it. Then out another window that led you to a roof, which we climbed a ladder to another roof. Then we hoped a sketchy ass gap then we went into the main large center building. And that is all full of rickety scaffolding that was creacking the whole walk. Wasn't safe at all, the scaffolding led us to the roof, there was an actual tree growing on the roof haha. We also saw the big burner and shoot that the coal fell through. Awesome place glad I got to explore it. Tryed to go back but cops are taking license numbers down, car vins, and plate numbers. If you return on sight. You will be arrested .

Question: What is the first letter of the word "abandoned?"
