Powerhouse

Powerhouse

The plant in it's entirety. The tops of the stacks have been removed, so only the bases are left.

Why were the stacks removed?
I'm not all too sure, they might have been unstable and ready to collapse.
They were growing unstable, but many people complained that they were an eye-sore.
I think it might have been more then an eye sore the inside of the 2 towers remaining is just full of metal poles and what looks like scafolding and a few chunks of steps left behind they might have took the stacks off before they gutted the inside of the towers to for saftey. I was actually parked right in front there in the third open area from the right nobody can see your car there but you'll need a look out.
this is actualy my favorite building...its sort of castle like...the fr0nt view is even more breath taking...i havent g0ne inside ..but i want to...i heard theres still furniture inside...and paperwork...and peoples charts and records..interesting huh?...i want to go over them..see what i come up with
Could someone tell me exactly where this powerplant is located on the Pilgrim grounds? Couldn't find it, though I used to see a structure similiar to it from the LIE back in the 70's.

Regarding a different structure, does anyone know the history or have any pics about the beautiful tower located on north edge of the grounds?
is there still stuff inside? wat about natural light?
What a very powerful image !

This building is all the way in the back of Pilgrim... if you're familiar with the Graveyard its over there. That graveyard is frekking sick how they labeled the people as numbers when they died... its over by one of the towers.. abandoned area of corse... and yet again crawling security >_<

Jackie-age 14.
You can drive by this building with out any problem . The road by it goes to the Heartland industrial park . It goes by the shops and leads right into the powerhouse I drive by it everyday on the way to work . at dss
the stacks are still there.... i live around the corner from it... thats one of the only buildings that are actually still there
Sooo... the smokestacks were re-attached?
Hot glue guns and power staplers can work wonders, it seems.
Hee. :)
wen i went their there were body parts in jars
i went in that building and heard something fall and then a baby cry after that then i ran to my bike and cryed.lol
I WAS THEIR TODAY WITH MY SON. THE STRUCTURE IS AMAZING. WE LOOKED INSIDE BUT WE DID NOT WALK IN. THE BUILDING IS IN BAD SHAPE. I WOULD LOVE TO FILM A MOVIE. OR A DOCUMENTARY.

lots OF SECURITY. WE WERE ASKED NICELY TO LEAVE. THE OFFICER SAID WE COULD LOOK AT IT FROM THE ROAD ALL WE WANTED BUT TO GO ON THE PROPERTY.
