Everything in this place is broken. Broken minds, hearts, buildings. How sad it all is.
I agree with Sheila.
Not to mention that picture is of probably what people would relate to as a home type vision.
It only stands to make the statement, "This place is a broken home."
I believe it's supossed to be a picture of the main building
it looks like it would be a pic of the main building and yes it's sad it prolly was a sad broken home
did you set up this pic motts?
It isn't the main building, just a picture of a house.

I found the broken half on the floor, so yes I propped it back under the picture for the shot.
i saw this pic today on the homepage as one of the random logo-pics and i really thought this is just the f* best logo-pic of them all!!!
A very artful photo with a take on the ironic of symmetry and the failed.
Very representative of this place.
This is where someone killed my Mother in 1963. It should be completely destroyed, it destoyed my family and my soul.
Uh-huh. Sure thing Larry.
larry, my friend{s mom perished there too after being used as human guinea pig. she was misdiagnosed for schizophrenia and we are just finding out about her horrible ordeals of 16 years as we found to family and friends now.
Navi, That's very nice of you. You have no idea of the pain this facility has caused so many people. I hope you don't have to.
Larry,

Stuff happens. People die. It sucks.

But to come here and take it out on people who have nothing to do with you, your mother, or the hospital in general, is a poor excuse for actually caring about what happened to your mother or other people who were there. That kind of behaviour has no place on this website.

You're wasting your time if you think we're going to bow down and let you talk trash here. Take it to someone who might actually get you justice for the pain caused to your family.
Uh Navi, I think you started it with your wise guy comment, you should have left it alone to begin with. My mother didn't just die, she was attacked and died as a result of the injuries sustained from the attack. However, you made a valid point and I have contacted a local attorney.
Was there any need for my smartass (I much prefer that word, thank you) comment without you deliberately trying to screw with us?

Honestly.
larry, i have same interests as you but they should not be discussed here. neither buildings nor staff at large should be bashed. so, please write me privately, even on msn with same name and we can exchange information and details about our cases. i share your sentiments. thanks negritail
Larry -- I am so sorry about your mother (and I'm sure many other people who aren't so suspicious of other people's motives are too) and also for anyone else who has gone through pain due to mental illness and its far-reaching effects -- ignore anyone else who says otherwise -- to argue with you over something like that is downright warped and pathetic and they may be in need of some psych help themselves. ;) Don't worry -- most people in the world are good and we DO care. Good luck to you.
larry i also agree don't worry about what people say. it sounds like this guys has issues himself. maybe he has never delt with mental illness with in his family. you have my sentiments.
Picture we put up in Bldg 23 Ward 3; the female surgical unit. Every time Joint Commission would come for accreditation we would get painted, get new curtains, bedspreads, etc...this picture was put up in the late 70s maybe 1979.
I have a grown Autistic daughter who lives at home. Years ago, she would have been sent to a place like this. How fortunate that she was born in the later half of the 20th century.
History repeats itself. This is why it is important for these places to not be torn down! This may seem like a sad legacy but the buildings and stories that are left behind could keep others from suffering the same fate in the future.
I had a relative die in Creedmore, she was treated horribly. Out of respect for her and what she went though I want places like this preserved so that her suffering and death would not be forgotten.
No. Way. I have this exact same print.
crisclean . wow no way seriously? put up a link of that print if u can. id love to compare the to.
I am wondering where home 19, Pilgrim State Hospital is. What is it....it is where my grandfather lived when he passed away. Does anybody know what Home 19 means? Thanks.
I believe the Home 19 signified the actual building number and what it was used for. There were numerious buildings at this site and there still are. Most of them are used by the college. Hope that answered your question.
the drawing looks force to be broken. it doesnt look like broken by itself. yeah, even its old, the brooken look perferct broken. not like natural broken.
